I enjoyed it because it take the AI story in a new direction, you may not know this but the 3 laws was taken from the movie I-Robot. In that and every other AI type movie the AIs always try to take over the world. But in this they only seen to live with humans as equals and I find that interesting. Im looking forward to see were they take the story from here, they may even put some romance in it, the possibilities are nearly endless.

The pacing is amazing in this show. They really understand when to move from fast edits to slow, so that you never feel like there isn't anything moving. Also have you noticed that there isn't really any music unless they are in the Time of Eve store. It's like the director is saying that the outside world is cold, but in Time Of Eve, there is music and life where the people are robots exist together. It's nice that there are small details such as the music which don't blatantly stand out, but which enhance the viewing experience. The editing is also really neat to watch. Camera shots that move through the BG are usually really hard to do in a cartoon. These types of shots establish that you are in the area rather than watching from outside. It must be helpful that the BG was made in partial 3d. Also there is motion blur which gives a neat feeling of realism to the show. The camera blurs when it moves from character to character, and the characters blur if they move to quickly. I also like how the camera actually moves. It's not frozen in place like many other shows, but will sometimes bounce or jiggle slightly as characters supposedly move by the camera. Some of the cuts are camera swings rather than film cuts which gives the show more verity in cinematography choice. In live action, camera shots move a lot, and these camera swung cuts make a more lively show. The color pallet is neat too, lots of oranges and browns with deep shadow lighting, and lots of white in-between. It makes everything feel somewhat antique and old, but futuristic at the same time.

You don't see characters in anime that will interrupt each other very often, but this director seems to really like that kind of scripting. It makes more realistic banter, that is fun to follow. It takes good scripting and good voice acting to pull off interrupting dialog that seems real, but is still understandable. With backgrounds as detailed as they are, it's amazing to me that the characters and moving objects that have less detail are able to fit right in and not look out of place. Normally the animated objects and characters who must be drawn with less detail will contrast heavily with rendered detailed backgrounds, (this usually looks bad) but luckily there are a lot of aftereffects put on the characters such as optical lighting from bright light sources that wash them out and give them more texture so that they blend in with the BG. The story is aslo good, but what makes a good story is not the story idea, it's how the story is told. Even the most boring idea can be made into a great show if you know how to tell it right (good cinematography, scripting, visuals, lighting, and animation that can act as believably as a pro actor) We have all seen shows about humans who wont accept ----insert race or creatures here--- and robots with enough intelligence such that they try to fit into society, that we think the story unoriginal. The way this story is told is different and unique so that the story idea will seem fresh and new to everyone.

In all I think taking 2 months to complete each episode shows. Lots of small details and more planning can go into each episode. It makes those cheap episodes made in a week look like crud. The fact that the visuals are more thought out makes watching a much better and more fulfilling event

The graphics and the animation of Time of Eve received great attention because of the detail put into it. It has also been put to great use since this anime has a meaning because some animes that I have watched mostly consists of fighting and fantasy, so this is totally fresh to me. In a way,it also has the Slice-of-life genre, and the plot is creative.

I'm absolutely looking forward to watching the future episodes. Great work.

Yes, it's very philosophical and I was wanting to find more animes/movies about AI and the consequences of having such advanced robots.

I was just listening to an episode of Coast to Coast AM where they were talking about stuff like this.

I want to read more on the topic.

It's deep, and the characters are well characterized. I also love seeing there is a change between the Androids inside and out of the café.

I agree with DeLuxSidLex, It's awesome how Asimov's three laws were actually used in an anime! A really well animated anime with an interesting story. Time of Eve is awesome so far!

It's very unique and thought provoking how they made the androids have this other side to them like an alter-ego. It leaves you thinking whether or not the people inside the cafe are androids or not. I also like the idea of no discrimination.

Animation quality is just awesome!
