What would your life be like if Manga, Anime, and Related materials became a major school subject?

they would force you to watch anime instead of it just being a hobby, that would suck .they would make you learn everything about episodes of an anime you like and then you will grow to hate it because it will become overplayed

I felt that everything that was changed into something related with job/assignment/etc would become boring.

Chemistry was my childhood obsession.
I used to enjoy reading about how many kind of magical things that can change color when exposed to other magical things. Or analyzing about how a few change in the electron configuration can totally change the nature of a substance. Things like that.
In my country, chemistry start being taught in high school. So, I was really looking forward to be a high school student.
Then I entered high school. I was enjoying learning chemistry. But...
It was unexpectedly tiring. Homework, deadline of assignments, exams... things that at the start, I just had done as a hobby, became a burden because it was turned into a thing that "I must do to decide my future". (I can't find a perfect word for this, but hope it's still understandable)
So, if manga become a school subject, maybe I will, again, be bored of it.

I have the exact same opinion as madao

Turning your favorite hobby into a school subject (or anything that hints at "be serious") turns it into something else completely. Another thing I've learned about studying about something you treat as a hobby, is that you often will have ideas that differ from what is deemed "right" or "good". When it is a hobby, nobody cares, but when it's school, you gotta twist your head in an awkward way to try and give a good answer, and that just takes the enjoyment away. You aren't gonna look at anime the same way anymore, that might not be so bad, but do you really wanna turn your hobby into work?

Well first off I would become teacher of the subject cause out of my school theres only 1 Asian that likes anime and only 1 Asian in the entire population of my school so I would be the obvious person to choose, then after a few years dub would be illegal cause we would all learn dub<sub
