I've never read the Linebarrels manga, but DomFortress's post sums my feelings up pretty well.

I also think it's hilarious that so many people are giving up after only the first episode. I'll at least try the first five to see if I like it or not.

Haven't read the manga.
The animation is nice for the fight scenes (e.g. like when the main character's mecha jumped up and broke the pavement under him etc.)
The main character is a big hurdle for me. I don't like him (near hate him). He is weak, ignorant, and has skewed ideals. He speaks of justice but achieves nothing more than meaningless episodes of pouting, giving up, and being manipulated by his peers. I have to deal with people like this in the real world, to watch a main character like this is too much.

I can't take another Lelouch or Death Note. I can't watch megalomaniacs. I like to watch people w/ honor try to manage and lead in trying circumstances. I hope the main character improves or is changed quickly.

Other than that, I like it.

Probably mentioned this but don't the mecha designs sort of remind you of ZOE (games and tv series) and Teknoman ; Linebarrel (Jehuty+Blade)and Vardant (Anubis)

And these people are often times acting out just like Kouichi Hayase in the manga, and I don't mean it in a good way. Kouichi Hayase's behaviors are referred as 中二病(Chū Ni Byō) in Japanese, or as we would call it the psychological issues of adolescent.

In Ch.4 of the manga, after his humiliating defeat in a mecha battle, Kouichi Hayase decided that he will no longer have anything to do with Linebarrels; that as long as he keeps bullying the weak, he won't have to deal with the responsibility of his power. But the truth is, Kouichi Hayase lacked the discipline to get up and redeem himself, and thus neglecting his duty as Linebarrels' Factor.

Well said, and I can promise you this that Kouichi Hayase got a tough lesson in life in the manga, at more than just the cost of his own life. Right now, he's nowhere near as a megalomaniac; he's not smart enough and he lacks the determination to be one. He's just power tripping, simple as that.

Off topic as this may be, the director of NGE was struggling with his own life back then, so he transferred his frustrations towards Shinji's character development, just like the majority of the series. Due to this, the manga of NGE has a much better plot.

So you don't like Simon's voice in Gurren Lagann? 'Cause Kouichi has the same VA.

That's because both the character designer and the director of Linebarrels also worked in Scryed.

As it should be, for the mecha designer Tsutomu Suzuki also designed ZOE the TV and OVA.

What I don't understand, and I wish someone explain this to me.
there has been ONE ep. just one. That's all. how can someone judge an entire series on one ep? because lets face it there are ALOT of series that, if judged by the first ep alone would be worthless (Eva. Aquarion. Clanlad. Vampire knight and many more ) that went on to become fan favorites. Also, the anime is a complete rewrite of the story in the manga. most are. You can't judge a book by it's cover. you can't judge a show on it's pilot, and you can't compare manga to anime, for the simple fact that it's like comparing oranges and apples. They are two different mediums, and different things work for each. I personally like this series.

The answer to that is simple; they don't think, they just react based on human instincts. And one of the basic human instincts is that humans are lazy by nature. Therefore they're only doing the bare minimum to maintain status quote, and not doing the impossible to challenge their individual limit.

They changed the most important thing of the whole story he became a factor three years ago when he died when he was bullyied on a field school trip by accident by linebarrel. After that incident he spent half a years in the hostipal and he became more agressive and stuff because he was ressurcted by linebarrels that what happens to a factor I beleive. I like the bad***, Power Hungry,Egoistic, Koichi better he was not a wimp like he was in the anime. The manga also explains who the girl is and the character development of Koichi and the girl. All well I see how it turns out.

That's only difference in Koichi's character settings, nothing too profound, nor important for that matter. He's been bullied all his life, whether or not he became Linebarrels' Factor 3 years ago doesn't change that fact. He lacks discipline, and he's not power hungry. He admires those with powers, but he lacks the determination to follow through when he's presented with a challenge. These aspects of Koichi present themselves in both the manga as well as in the anime series, so I don't see your problem.

And as for Emi, we didn't get to know some of her stories until after Vol.4 in the manga, that's 4 out of 9 volumes released in Japan so far. So just what are you expecting to see, when the anime series is only on its first episode?
