hm. i tend to skip all opening and ending scenes...not so much because i dun like them...but becoz they take up too much time...esp those that dun change. i quite like the bleach ones...coz they do give you a clue on what's going to happen...and a lot of times...you get to see the characters in different forms and stuff...which is cool. hm. other opening themes i think are good...are...the witch hunter robin one, the bakumatsu...and kamisama kazoku. eyeshield 21 is not bad as well.

AND how many animes have u been watching -.-'

It does. If i like the animation and the music in the opening it's like a preview of what to expect from the series.

Sadly in most cases the songs and openings are crap and don't fit at all with the overall theme of the anime. For some reason japanese people think that bubbly pop songs are suitable for everything including violent, dark and/or gruesome animes.

songs i like and think are appropriate:
from animes im watching now...

Rolling Star (bleach)
Pray (Gintama)
What's up people (Death Note 2nd opening) - a lot of people didnt like this one but I really think it goes well because of Light who returns to his former self but this time twice as evil... he looks demonic most of the time.

One example of an ok song but a bad match for an anime is Gantz.
The theme song is good but it's bubbly sounds is very misleading lol I guess one could say that Gantz is such a messed anime it doesnt matter that the song doesnt fit.

You said it better than me And i totally agree that the Gantz song dont fit.
Some more examples:
Muteki Kanban Musume - its like someone wanted to make a amercian version of a anime opening
Jungle wa Itsumo Hale nochi Guu's opening is really funny XD
Gargoyle of Yoshinaga House really has the character in the song, i mean a child singing.

Sometimes when u watch a anime with an bad opening song for a longer period it only gets better and better and it ends up with you singing along

That sounds a bit asshole-ish of you. You're missing out on a lot of really great shows just because you refuse to skip over a theme song that you don't like.

The opening of Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu pretty much summerizes the anime pretty well without actually giving away huge spoilers or anything.

I don't think it affect the WHOLE series but it gives you the tone it's set in.

Openings always give me the first impression. It works sometimes, but then backfires on other times.

Rozen Maiden's opening sounded terrible the first time to me. It completely got me disinterested with the show until I picked it up again a while later. It turned out to be a very nice series. xxxHolic's opening song also was a little iffy for me. The anime was good, but the opening didn't give the best impression.

BECK's beginning, "Hit in America", had the most addicting beginning I've seen in a while. I also thought Rewrite in FMA was a really nice one as well.

I agree that a good opening song decides whether the anime is good or not. Personaly I look at the songs on anime before i look at anything else. the song determines the anime.
