Would you prefer a long ass manga (like maybe about 30-40 chapters) or a shortish manga (say around 10 to 15 chapters).

Would you prefer a story that's more serious or light (ie. lots of comedy)?

Which one's better, reverse harem (like Fushigi etc) or just romance between mainly two people (like Itazura na Kiss).

Should the romance be fast (like early on in the manga) or right at the end?

Most importantly, do you prefer romance with another genre (like romance-action or romance-fantasy, romance-comedy etc. Basically stories like Vampire Knight, La Corda D'oro, and School Rumble) or a story that focuses MAINLY on romance with a bit of extra sub-plot that you don't really care about (Special A).

Then I also wanna know if ecchi is necessary.

Tragic ending: really bad idea, bad idea but tolerable, okay idea, good idea, great?

Should the main character be cute and moe or strong and smart? Plain or pretty or beautiful?

thanks!

Would you prefer a long ass manga (like maybe about 30-40 chapters) or a shortish manga (say around 10 to 15 chapters)?
Long.

Would you prefer a story that's more serious or light (ie. lots of comedy)?
Hmm... both. I don't like too much of either one, unless it's shounen.

Which one's better, reverse harem (like Fushigi etc) or just romance between mainly two people (like Itazura na Kiss)?
Hard question. Mainly two people, because I'm getting tired of all the reverse harem.

Should the romance be fast (like early on in the manga) or right at the end?
At the end, but I prefer in the middle. If it happens fast, then I'll quickly get tired of their relationship.

Most importantly, do you prefer romance with another genre (like romance-action or romance-fantasy, romance-comedy etc. Basically stories like Vampire Knight, La Corda D'oro, and School Rumble) or a story that focuses MAINLY on romance with a bit of extra sub-plot that you don't really care about (Special A)?
Romance-comedy/action (no fantasy). I can't stand all romance.

Then I also wanna know if ecchi is necessary?
NO. I hate ecchi. It's so fucking annoying and useless. I've put High School of the Dead on hold because of too much ecchi.

Tragic ending: really bad idea, bad idea but tolerable, okay idea, good idea, great?
Okay idea.

Should the main character be cute and moe or strong and smart? Plain or pretty or beautiful?
Strong, smart, and decent looking. Fucking hate cute and moe. Ugh.

-Mm it depends on how deep the story goes but, normally I like longer mangas.

-More serious. Comedy is good, but I enjoy serious manga's more.

-Mainly two people. Reverse Harem normally annoys me.

-I think it should be spread out. Right at the last is annoying, and right at the beginning is too early. I mean, I wanna know more about the characters before they get into a relationship.

-Romance with another genre. Preferably Romance-Action, Romance-horror, Romance-Mystery, and Romance-Comedy

-NO, it's not.

-Great idea. I actually really love tragic endings since I remember them way better then the generic "Girl and guy kiss in some random place and are all happy" ending.

-Strong and Smart, Pretty.

Would you prefer a long ass manga (like maybe about 30-40 chapters) or a shortish manga (say around 10 to 15 chapters).
it doesn't matter to me, as long as its intresting i wouldn't care.

Would you prefer a story that's more serious or light (ie. lots of comedy)?
i like more serious manga
Which one's better, reverse harem (like Fushigi etc) or just romance between mainly two people (like Itazura na Kiss).
i would say between two people. I dont really like it when 2 or 3 boys like one girl. Someone always ends up with a broken heart
Should the romance be fast (like early on in the manga) or right at the end?
i would say in the middle because. i can't wait until the whole manga is almost over.
Most importantly, do you prefer romance with another genre (like romance-action or romance-fantasy, romance-comedy etc. Basically stories like Vampire Knight, La Corda D'oro, and School Rumble) or a story that focuses MAINLY on romance with a bit of extra sub-plot that you don't really care about (Special A).
eeerrrm.... Romance-comedy but sometimes i just like romance
Then I also wanna know if ecchi is necessary.
No.
Tragic ending: really bad idea, bad idea but tolerable, okay idea, good idea, great?

Should the main character be cute and moe or strong and smart? Plain or pretty or beautiful?
well i wont read it if the boy character isn't cute lol, but i like cute, strong, smart, conceited types lol

Would you prefer a long ass manga (like maybe about 30-40 chapters) or a shortish manga (say around 10 to 15 chapters).

normally I like shorter manga...but if I tend to have more time, I'd read something longer.

Would you prefer a story that's more serious or light (ie. lots of comedy)?

serious. Drama is my calling.

Which one's better, reverse harem (like Fushigi etc) or just romance between mainly two people (like Itazura na Kiss).

I prefer reverse harem more since there's so many possible pairings so you don't know who is going out with who. But romance with two people tends to have more drama. xD

Should the romance be fast (like early on in the manga) or right at the end?

it's a little annoying if it's fast (though it matters how the mangaka portrays it) but if it's at the end, it gets really laggy and annoying. (unless it's a good series with realistic issues. There always seems to have a scene where the female lead gets kidnapped...) But if it's a oneshot, then I'd understand.

Romance/Action/Drama. The drama kinda ties in with the romance and the action is interchangeable with other genres.

Then I also wanna know if ecchi is necessary.

No. Fanservice is a major turn-off for me. It's a like a cheap way of attracting fans.

Tragic ending: really bad idea, bad idea but tolerable, okay idea, good idea, great?

YES. Did you not hear me? Drama is my calling. Like Deep Love: Ayu no Monogatari. THAT was a work of art. Besides, they tend to leave a bigger impression on me. It's like how it was with 1 Litre of Tears. I remember it better than the ending of all those generic happy story endings. Basically, they make the story better and less unrealistic. Irony anybody?

Should the main character be cute and moe or strong and smart? Plain or pretty or beautiful?

Girl: strong minded (someone like sakura from BODY) but is pretty to a degree where she's still plain but not beautiful. and smart. I hate it when the female leads are idiotic bitches who always need a guy to lean on.

Guy: Strong minded, totally hot is kinda a turn off for me since it's also basically another way to get fans but as long as he's good looking I like it.

Would you prefer a long ass manga (like maybe about 30-40 chapters) or a shortish manga (say around 10 to 15 chapters).

You call 30-40 chapters long? I prefer the really long ones, like 100 or so chapters. It gives the plot time to develop well, the short ones don't give you time to understand the characters or anything like that.

Would you prefer a story that's more serious or light (ie. lots of comedy)?

Well I like stories that have a medium amount of drama and a lot of comedy, but if I had to choose one it would be comedy.

Which one's better, reverse harem (like Fushigi etc) or just romance between mainly two people (like Itazura na Kiss).

Uh, it depends on what mood I'm in, but most of the time I'll go for a good reverse harem.

Should the romance be fast (like early on in the manga) or right at the end?

I really hate mangas where the girl falls in love with the boy right away, but if it's the boy that falls for the girl right away, then in the start is better. But if that's not the case, I like it in the end as long as there are subtle hints of romance throughout the rest of the manga.

I like romance mixed with other genres, like romance, drama, comedy, and fantasy, or something like that. Romance by itself tends to be too mushy and and have repetitive story lines.

Then I also wanna know if ecchi is necessary.

No. Especially not for female readers. Ecchi is mainly for male entertainment, I prefer to keep it as clean as possible. Although a little bit of fanservice meant for girls is sometimes fun, it's not important.

Tragic ending: really bad idea, bad idea but tolerable, okay idea, good idea, great?

The worst idea possible. I hate stories where they make you attached to the characters and then kill them off. A good story is one that you walk away from feeling happy.

Should the main character be cute and moe or strong and smart? Plain or pretty or beautiful?

Definitely strong and smart. Plain or pretty isn't really as important to me, but I think I would pick plain. It's really sweet when a guy falls for a girl and you know it isn't because of looks.

Nice survey. Thanks for making it, I had fun.

Would you prefer a long ass manga (like maybe about 30-40 chapters) or a shortish manga (say around 10 to 15 chapters).
Long is better if it's a good story. If it's badly done then it won't matter how long or short it is.

Would you prefer a story that's more serious or light (ie. lots of comedy)?
I like things lighter, with the flexibility to be serious when the story calls for it.

Which one's better, reverse harem (like Fushigi etc) or just romance between mainly two people (like Itazura na Kiss). Just two people.

Should the romance be fast (like early on in the manga) or right at the end? Somewhere in the middle, not too soon so I get bored...but not too late so I don't get to see the romance develop.

I like romance with another genre. Preferably romance-comedy.

Then I also wanna know if ecchi is necessary. - It's not necessary, but I wouldn't say no.

Tragic ending: really bad idea, bad idea but tolerable, okay idea, good idea, great? REALLY BAD IDEA! It's a make-me-hate-the-author kind of idea.

Should the main character be cute and moe or strong and smart? Plain or pretty or beautiful?
Girl - Pretty, smart but not too smart, not annoying.
Boy - Very handsome and smart.

long

Would you prefer a story that's more serious or light (ie. lots of comedy)?
both

Which one's better, reverse harem (like Fushigi etc) or just romance between mainly two people (like Itazura na Kiss).
depends on the main girl (the girl the guys like) and the guy i like for the girl (usually the main guy)

orange]Should the romance be fast (like early on in the manga) or right at the end?
middle, i hate it when it's early cos there'll always be some sort of third party which i dislike, and if it's too slow, i'd stop reading (i'm kinda impatient)

Most importantly, do you prefer romance with another genre (like romance-action or romance-fantasy, romance-comedy etc. Basically stories like Vampire Knight, La Corda D'oro, and School Rumble) or a story that focuses MAINLY on romance with a bit of extra sub-plot that you don't really care about (Special A).
just romance alone is too dry for me, so i like romance/comedy/action/fantasy (but no angst or tragedy)

Then I also wanna know if ecchi is necessary.
no ecchi, if my parents caught me reading that...and i don't like ecchi

Tragic ending: really bad idea, bad idea but tolerable, okay idea, good idea, great?
i hate tragedy

I prefer one-shots, when I read manga, actually. Well... if it's romance-y. If it's anything OTHER than romance, longer is good. Just not... Naruto/Bleach/OnePiece type long.

Would you prefer a story that's more serious or light (ie. lots of comedy)?
Light.

Which one's better, reverse harem (like Fushigi etc) or just romance between mainly two people (like Itazura na Kiss).
Two people. Reverse harem = FAIL

Should the romance be fast (like early on in the manga) or right at the end?
If it's short, right at the end. If it's longer, nearer the beginning.

If the main point of it is to be a romance manga, myself preferring one-shots, I'd say focus solely on the relationship(s).

Then I also wanna know if ecchi is necessary.
Not REALLY, but done right, it can be good.

Tragic ending: really bad idea, bad idea but tolerable, okay idea, good idea, great?
Really bad idea. AND great idea.
I love them but I hate them.

Should the main character be cute and moe or strong and smart? Plain or pretty or beautiful?
Pretty. And realistic. Like the main girl in Lovely Complex. She was a FANTASTIC female character, imo. Even for me, who almost ALWAYS HATES female characters in manga.
