Would you prefer a long ass manga (like maybe about 30-40 chapters) or a shortish manga (say around 10 to 15 chapters).
I doesn't matter as long as it is good and has an awesome ending.

Would you prefer a story that's more serious or light (ie. lots of comedy)?
both actually >.<

Which one's better, reverse harem (like Fushigi etc) or just romance between mainly two people (like Itazura na Kiss).
hmmmm......i say romance between two mainly people ( i don't read manga about romance that much)

Should the romance be fast (like early on in the manga) or right at the end?
really i don't know since i don't like romance manga that much. it depends

Most importantly, do you prefer romance with another genre (like romance-action or romance-fantasy, romance-comedy etc. Basically stories like Vampire Knight, La Corda D'oro, and School Rumble) or a story that focuses MAINLY on romance with a bit of extra sub-plot that you don't really care about (Special A).
i don't really care as long as it has a good storyline and great character development.

Then I also wanna know if ecchi is necessary.
Not really....

Tragic ending: really bad idea, bad idea but tolerable, okay idea, good idea, great?
Really bad idea. AND great idea.

okay idea

Should the main character be cute and moe or strong and smart? Plain or pretty or beautiful?

>romance-comedy,coz i'm not just having a lovestruck but also entertained.. lol..that's what manga supposed to be!!

Would you prefer a long ass manga (like maybe about 30-40 chapters) or a shortish manga (say around 10 to 15 chapters).
I prefer longer mangas. So you can get into character development and plot, to form favourite characters and epic plots etc

Would you prefer a story that's more serious or light (ie. lots of comedy)?

I enjoy both depending on my mood. Serious manga is easier to develop greater plot and theme. So I like serious.

Which one's better, reverse harem (like Fushigi etc) or just romance between mainly two people (like Itazura na Kiss).
I HATE ROMANCE. But I'll give you my opinion on both. Harems are cheesy and allow fangirls to squeal over copious amounts of pretty boys. While a romance between only two has less character variety = less chance of forming a favourite character.

Should the romance be fast (like early on in the manga) or right at the end?
Taking it slow is better. Romance stories are all about romance right? If their relationship starts right off the bat there's no conflict of tension between the two characters.

Like I said, I HATE ROMANCE. I prefer action, horror, psychological, thriller, adventure, comedy etc Because romance and drama stories are always so cliched it makes me sick to my stomach. A sub-genre gives the story texture.

Then I also wanna know if ecchi is necessary.
As in "girl in shower" scene? No. Especially in a manga directed at a female audience.
As in "guy is shirtless" scene? Not necessary, it gives the fangirls something to squeal over but it cannot make a good story. Obvious and copious amounts of fanservice tends to be annoying and untasteful.

Tragic ending: really bad idea, bad idea but tolerable, okay idea, good idea, great?

Tragic is the new pink. In other words, whatever you want the audience to feel when reading the story make sure you can pull it off.
If you can pull off a non cliched happy ending, go for it. If you try force it into a tragic ending readers might get annoyed. See whether or not the character's have worked hard for their happy ending.

Should the main character be cute and moe or strong and smart? Plain or pretty or beautiful?
MOE?!? Please no more generic shoujo characters!!! Have some sarcastic, blunt, weird, strange, ugly, smart.....
Just no more cute, plain, next door neighbor girl that nobody notices until she get a make over...

Would you prefer a long ass manga (like maybe about 30-40 chapters) or a shortish manga (say around 10 to 15 chapters).

any. i don't care how long or short it is, as long as it's completed and has a good story. long or short, if it's good, i'll read it. i don't think length matters. the only way i would take length in consideration is if the person rushed too much with the story in such a way that i hardly understand what's going on. or stretched it too long, adding things that make no sense and is unneeded anyway. translation: filler episodes that "are NOT" enjoyable to watch. a good example would be bleach. bleach has awesome fillers. but not aLL of them are awesome.... comedical fillers are fine. fillers with great scenes fans might be interested in seeing is fine. but fillers made to just pass time and makes u feel it's a waste of hours watching (OR READING in this case) is a big "no-no"..

Would you prefer a story that's more serious or light (ie. lots of comedy)?

a bit of both. u can't be happy ALL the time. and u can't be sad ALL the time. well maybe u can be sad all the time. it depends. but happy moments and sad moments come to pass. i think conveying happy and sad feelings to the reader is valuable. examples would be such as death note. reading the summary of the book, at first glance, u wouldn't think anything in that book would make u "laugh". but the sophisticated combination of ryuk's funny personality/look/apple addiction, L's weird habits in response to serious situations, and Misa's lovable/childish/comedic/immature persona along with the storyline, keeps people interested. guessing what's going to happen next. and at times even relieves a bit of stressful tension the reader has when worrying whether their favorite character will die or not. a manga is a form of entertainment. we read it to be entertained. so a novel that can access different feelings from the reader will prove to be remarkably satisfying. most of the world's most successful manga are built in such a way.

Which one's better, reverse harem (like Fushigi etc) or just romance between mainly two people (like Itazura na Kiss).

i honestly like both just the same. but to be honest, i guess i feel i have more complaints about the reverse harems. reverse harems are usually fanservice-like but with romance and drama on who's going to be picked. no complaints there.. but it would be nice if the main character actually PICKED someone. dammit.. it's really annoying when u watch a series to see who would be picked just to find that no one was picked at all.. so does that mean the leading character decides she doesnt like any of them? on the other hand, romances like itazura na kiss and bokura ga ita are more satisfying. because even though there are love triangles, and even though u already know right off the bat the leading girl gets the leading man, there is so much drama involved that u get swept up and completely forget about who is supposed to end up with who. but rlly. fushigi yugi was great because she picked someone. she had a romance with someone. u can't say ur not satisfied with that.. but shows like la corda, while the art, story, and characters are most loved. u can't help but have the ending upset the h311 out of u... @w@

Most importantly, do you prefer romance with another genre (like romance-action or romance-fantasy, romance-comedy etc. Basically stories like Vampire Knight, La Corda D'oro, and School Rumble) or a story that focuses MAINLY on romance with a bit of extra sub-plot that you don't really care about (Special A).

i don't have a preference. i think they r both equally appealing. it just depends on whether u use it the right way or not. i've seen the bad and good sides to both kinds of romance manga. i think the storyteller should just imagine the story and characters and go with it from there. adding action to it when it's not needed or unimportant to the story is a waste. and removing action from it when it's supposed to have it is ridiculous. i've seen both cases and it's annoying.

Then I also wanna know if ecchi is necessary.

ecchi is NEVER "necessary".. It just depends on what the reader wants and the audience the reader wants to target. That's the only time they should think about the word "necessary". otherwise, it should just go as life tells it too. meaning, "things happen in life". they just do. and since manga reflects on how life is, things can happen in it too. maybe an ecchi scene happens. leading the character to notice they had feelings for the other they never knew about. "things happen". but use it in moderation. i dislike ridiculous series who make ecchi moments that look like accidents constantly all the time. it's no accident. 1st time yes. 2nd time maybe. 3rd time, every person who read that manga knows the writer/artist just wanted to draw a panty shot. end of discussion. so yes, i'm not scared of ecchi, but this constant stupidity of scenes turns me off which makes me dislike trying the genre.

Tragic ending: really bad idea, bad idea but tolerable, okay idea, good idea, great?

it depends. i dont think the writer should say "ima give it a tragic ending.." or "ima give it a good ending.." it's a story. each story has its PROPER ending. mess with it and people complain. to further explain, here's an example. main character's awesome.. everyone wins. then main character got shot in the back without warning, everyone cries. the end. that's retarded. well maybe in like a "mafia series" it's not. but sudden endings like this make no sense and upset the reader. NOW here's a GOOD example. DEATH NOTE.. a certain someone dies in the last episode. yes it was a tragic ending. but it FITS. IT FITS. u cant say it doesnt fit even if u didnt want the character to die. it was SHOCKING. but it FITS. that is the example of a good but tragic ending.
so basically i dont care if the ending is tragic or not. as long as it makes sense and FITS.

Should the main character be cute and moe or strong and smart? Plain or pretty or beautiful?

doesn't matter. it depends on the story. the attitude and look of the main character effects the story and supporting characters tremendously. the manga writer/artist should put the appearance of the leading character into lots of consideration. it doesnt matter if the leading character is rich, average, poor, pretty, or hideous and scares everyone away like in perfect girl / the wallflower. before deciding things like that, story comes first. in the wallflower/perfect girl evolution: the story is about a girl who's normal like every other girl. not exceptionally pretty. blends in. but due to heartbreak, she stopped taking care of herself and scares the h311 out of people. and a harem of boys are being bribed to help her change. for someone who wants a storyline like that, it;s obvious to your imagination how the heroine will look like. and then there's hanasakeru seishounen. about a rich girl playing a wedding game. trying to see which handsome bachelor she will end up marrying as opposed to her father.. so.. how do u think the writer will make the young cunning rich girl playing such a game look like? so rlly. it depends. therefore i have no preference. whatever look it takes to make the story good is fine with me.

Would you prefer a long ass manga (like maybe about 30-40 chapters) or a shortish manga (say around 10 to 15 chapters).
Depends on what the story is.

Would you prefer a story that's more serious or light (ie. lots of comedy)?
Depends. Usually the latter.

Which one's better, reverse harem (like Fushigi etc) or just romance between mainly two people (like Itazura na Kiss).
Depends on who the person is that's getting the attention. For example, I like Hino Kahoko's harem in La Corda, but I definitely support AmuxWall in Shugo Chara.

Should the romance be fast (like early on in the manga) or right at the end?
Depends on the story.

Depends. I've seen all of these examples, and they were all pretty good, but most of the time I prefer the former~

Then I also wanna know if ecchi is necessary.
Not *necessary*, I barely stand it.

Tragic ending: really bad idea, bad idea but tolerable, okay idea, good idea, great?
Depends on the story <_<

Should the main character be cute and moe or strong and smart? Plain or pretty or beautiful?
Depends on the story

A lot of these questions do depend on the story though.

For example:

- HnG works best as a long manga, but Koko ni Iru Yo doesn't have enough sustenance to stay alive for the 250 chapters Hng has.

- Code Geass wouldn't be as stunning unless it were so serious (most of the time). But if it were too serious, Kaasan - Mom's Life would be a soap opera/emo ramblings

- In Watashi ni XX Shinasai, it'd be absurd to carry out the plot and romance all at once. It'd be a 2 second manga. But in other manga, the heroine quickly catches her prize and hilarity ensues >D

- Tragic ending can be heartbreaking and beautiful (Code Geass) or just plain tarted because the author couldn't solve the problems they made for drama (School Days, as I've heard)

Would you prefer a long ass manga (like maybe about 30-40 chapters) or a shortish manga (say around 10 to 15 chapters).
I usually go for short mangas (but long running mangas are okay as long as they don't turn crappy) ...

Would you prefer a story that's more serious or light (ie. lots of comedy)?
Always light! ;P I've read some serious stories and liked them, which are usually short stories ...

Which one's better, reverse harem (like Fushigi etc) or just romance between mainly two people (like Itazura na Kiss).
Just a romance between two people ... But I don't mind love triangles ...

Should the romance be fast (like early on in the manga) or right at the end?
It should start after a few chapters but the main character (especially if it's a girl) must remain oblivious at first ...

I prefer romantic comedy! But I guess serious romance is not bad either ... ;]

Then I also wanna know if ecchi is necessary.
Okay with me! If it goes well with the story ;P

Tragic ending: really bad idea, bad idea but tolerable, okay idea, good idea, great?

Sometimes, tragedies are beautiful (exclude School Days) ... But I don't like them, because I read mangas that make me happy ... not make me cry my eyes out! lol

Should the main character be cute and moe or strong and smart? Plain or pretty or beautiful?
Cute and moe for me! But pretty and strong and stubborn is okay too! ;P

I dun't really care as long as it's interesting and I LOVE IT I'm all good :)

Would you prefer a story that's more serious or light (ie. lots of comedy)?

I prefer light. I don't want the character to be over dramatic or worse a comedian. :p

Which one's better, reverse harem (like Fushigi etc) or just romance between mainly two people (like Itazura na Kiss).

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE REVERSE HAREM MANGA AND ANIME'S...! But I don't really like the " love at fist sight." I don't like the girl falling in love at fist sight on a guy either even if it's SUUUUUPER handsome that'll make you drool. :p

Should the romance be fast (like early on in the manga) or right at the end?

I prefer right at the end. But it'd better if in the middle.

I like it all. I don't have a preference really as long as the story is good and characters are great I'm fine with any romance etc... genre. ;)

Then I also wanna know if ecchi is necessary.

No! Absolutely not, it'll make the image of the story and character bad. I'm not a big fan of ecchi. Though I like yaoi. :p

Tragic ending: really bad idea, bad idea but tolerable, okay idea, good idea, great?

Well , Great Idea and Bad Idea.
It balances the story and I LOVE AND HATE THEM THE SAME. :)[

Should the main character be cute and moe or strong and smart? Plain or pretty or
beautiful?[/blue]

I HATE WEAK GIRLS. NO I DESTEST IT. MOE TOO.. I'm kinda sick of it. The damsel in distress thing **SHUDDERS** I like strong willed girl. Not the strong ( as in martial artist , a girl who can knock a guy out **K.O..!** ) I like those who can stand for themselves.
~ SO It should be - BEAUTIFUL , SMART and strong mayb

I prefer shorter manga because im too lazy to read 900000 chapters

i prefer lighter plot

ive never read a harem i liked

i dont really care for romance just yaoi and i don't want to wait i prefer it in the begining. but manga doesnt HAVE to have romance

i never seen an ecchi revolving around males(ouran host thing whatever srsly doesn't count)

i dont mind a tragic ending

the main character should just be likeable, and as long as there's at least 1hot boy or 1 cute girl the main character doesn't have to be pretty

1) I would have to say about 30-40 if not longer.

2) Light with a little bit of seriousness.

3) A one like Itazura no kiss? ( never even heard of that)

4) near the end

5) yes I perfer other genres in it too. its kinda rare to have this kind of anime: Mecha, Romance, action, drama, adventure. ( ex: escaflowne, gurren lagann, macross frontier). another one can be like eden of the east or pandora hearts or kuroshitsuji.

6) Meh. not really a big fan of ecchi. I prefer without please.

7) by tragic ending I'm thinking like school days tragic o_0 uhh i don't understand this one. can you please rephrase or something,

8) I'm kinda picky i guess. She should be : Smart and Strong and pretty decent looking where the main guy can fall for her no matter how she looks, or something like that. I really don't like the typical moe moe girls who are dumb and always have to be saved by the guy. she should be like Yoko from gurren lagann.
