Hinatahyun... (I don´t remember your nick). I think you are very wrong. Maybe because you are 15 years old and you are inmadure but I think you are insulting to the people with your words. The anime/manga is an hobby, something you like and the age doesn´t mind. I guess you eat candy, dont you... well you are 15 and the candy are to the children...
I think you don´t understand this aficcion... so stop now to read manga/watch anime because I don´t think you will be able to stop in 12 year (when you will be 28 years old) and you will feel "very ashamed", don´t you?

You are very inmadure (Is true you´re 15 years old? I think you´re younger... Your mind is wrong!!) Could you think like a person who is 15 y. o.?

If you have to think about when to "retire" because you're too old, mabee it's time for now. take a look to the left- I started before you were a twinkle in your father's eye. Probably before your parents met, even. My wife watches with me, we don't watch the child-echi and no one thinks I'm senile, but maybe if it bothers you so much you should cut ties now before anyone finds out since you seem to be so worried about what others think.

I hear you there. I've been watching anime for at least 18 years. ( I can't really remember much before that) I wonder how many other older people on here have been watching anime for most of their lives.

I will end watching anime until the day I die.

I've been watching it since forever, and I haven't stop because I always move to different series while I grow up (but there are some series that remain always with me). I mean, when I was 16 I didn't like Nana, but now at 20, I totally love it. Why? because I can relate to it in many ways.

Anime is not just for kids, understand?!

Is this supposed to be a trick question? Really because I don't think there would be a correct answer to it.

If a kid watches anime and finds it boring, he stops right? Similarly If an adult watches anime and finds it entertaining, he starts to become a fan. Limitations as to when a hobby should be stopped is always dependent on the hobbyist, not according to his age.

So a person can never be "Too old" when it comes to the things he enjoys. As long as he still finds fulfillment with it, why should he stop

So if you think you should consider stopping anime watching (or anything related to anime and manga for that matter) because of your age, then why are you still hanging around here? Better quit now kiddo.

there are many opinions so there is no correct answers i would say stop right before the age of 20-23 so u can catch on reality and for most just right out of college so then u can begin a life

Who do you think MAKES anime? 15 year olds?
How many anime where there 60 years ago? Thats why you don't see too many older people who watch anime, they didn't grow up with it. Just like video games, obviously there are going to be a lot of middle aged people who play videogames as the generation that grew up with it as central part of their lives gets older.

What gives you the right to "allow" certain age groups to watch anime? Anime doesn't belong to you, its not your place to say who can watch what and when.

There also seems to be this assumption that anime is a static medium, that shows are and always be for kids, I think that as the demographics expand there will be more and more serious/political/philosophical/dramatic anime out there.

The guys making animes/games are old people, Hideo Kojima is a dirty old man enough to be your father. So what the hell are you talking about?

So many negative things I can state about your closed-minded thought process of what the general population should do about the anime medium in which we decide to watch whatever story suits our fancy; including some major stories such as "Grave of the Fireflies", "Ghost in the Shell", and others which wasn't originally meant for kids younger than 18 to be watching. I met the nicest guy at an anime convention; loved the most bloodiest animes along with me, real down-to-earth individual; 52 years old; didn't speak a word of english; but we understood each other through our limited knowledge of Japanese (at the time).

I do find it funny however that people try to always place others in an age group when they watch a certain anime show. Why should it matter if a 40-yr old watches Naruto. What people do in their own homes that DOESN'T break any laws is their business. Besides, anime is the connecting thread from the 6-10 yr olds to the 11-15 yr olds, to the 16-21 yr olds, to the 22-29 yr olds .....so on and so forth; from all walks of life from nearly every continent in the world. To me, placing an "age limit" would be the same as placing a restriction on the one thing that people can connect to on a level where words are not necessary. To take that thread away is to bring chaos; as if humanity needs another excuse to exude complete rage at the drop of a hat for.

1207. That's probably the right age to call it quits. Actually I think there is no "too old." I'll probably watch until I die!

If your 11-14 you should be starting anime or at least watched for a year. This is normal unless your some crazy child who watches like horrible banned illegal anime...XD

I never knew there was such a thing known as a "horrible banned illegal anime". In fact, I've never seen an anime that is illegal.

Um...if 'illegal anime' means those of the x-rated kind, then if is in fact prohibited for kids below 18 (or whatever the legal age is.)

fuck prohibitions!!!! you can watch anything anytime you want no matter how old you are... your in control of your OWN LIFE!!!
