I have a feeling that a lot of the younger people here don't have any clue who he is and, unfortunately, I doubt this will get much media coverage what with Anna Nicole and Don Imus being all over the news these days.

:/ I normally don't get too depressed when a celebrity dies, but this is damn depressing. He died yesterday (April 11th).

So it goes.

He is an author! A fairly well known one... he wrote a bunch of novels but I think Cats Cradle and Slaughterhouse-five are two of his better known ones.

Shame he died.

eh, i've never actually read anything of his though i did see the slaughter house 5 movie. meh, not my thing. i know he is a buzz word for kids pretending to be intellectuals. he was 84, so it's not totally unexpected. it's been getting pretty decent media coverage though.

I didn't like Slaughter House 5 at all. It was a pretty strange book... His style just wasn't for me. Shame he died though. I know he has a lot of readers.

I'm not so sure that his age is what killed him. A few weeks prior to his death he fell and suffered some injuries from that.

D: Slaughterhouse-Five and Cat's Cradle are two of my favorite books. I would recommend reading both of the books.
