When Spirits die in Soul Society they become reishi particles or something like that.

well, living forever can get tiring, but where do the killed souls go to???

Umm not to sound like a nerd (no matter how true it might be ) but wasn't it explained with the reasons behind the disappearance of the quinces... How there is a constant transfer of souls between the two worlds that needs to be balanced. Unless you find the explanation stupid? In that case there's no argument from me just thought I'd mention it. Generally I don't try to think about it too much cause it leads to finding innumerable contradictions so its easier not to think about it too hard.

I find it odd, I wonder how it works exactly. Like do they get stuck living with the dead humans, or would they just cease to exist or just kind of live to be dead forever?

Other odd thing is how only renji and hisagi grew up so far, the rest doesn't even grow as much a wrinkle

It is pretty weird and doesn't make sense to me at all, but oh well that's how the story rolls.

I thought I remember Yamamoto saying how one of their captains passed on to 'true heaven', at least according to the subtitles? (I can't remember where, or even when.) Ever since I saw that, its at least made a little bit more sense to me. I began seeing Soul Society as a sort of... train stop in the railway of death? o.O

Of course, I could totally be remembering wrong.
