Dear major record labels,

Why are you involved in a 'loudness war'? The amount of gain that you add to the tracks distorts the music to all hell. Below is an example of what is happening. This is Michael Jacksons song "Black or White" from 1991 (original) to 1995 (HIStory) to 2007 (Ultimate collection).


The orginal is fine. Barely anything over the zero mark. It's music to my ears. Everything is crisp and clear and the dynamics are noticable. The 1995 edition, things are getting a lttle bit out of hand. More of the signal is over the zero mark causing it to clip. The 2007 edition......why? Why would you do such a thing? Why would you ruin a great piece of music just so you can make it "louder" when all you're doing is creating distortion? The dynamics are gone and the distortion is making my ears bleed and ruining my speakers.

This whole 'loudness war' is going on because you believe that 'louder' music sells better when all it does is distort the music. DO NOT artifically raise the volume of the track. You're supposed to let the LISTENER raise the volume of the track using the VOLUME KNOB. Fucking idiots. One more thing - Don't use brick wall limiters. Thanks.
