Japanese dialogue in PS3 Blu-ray Last Remnant teased

The US & EU version comes only in english

gayyy... i always play japanese dialog w/ english subtitles :(, wow it must be a lot of dialog if you cant fit two languages in the game... i wouldnt mind if the game was 5 dvds long! like how lost odyssey is 4 dvds and has 4 langauges

Just got the game, surprisingly the english voices are pretty good, not the best, but bareable enough for me not to want to plug in my ipod and just listen to music while playing. From what I've played, the games enjoyable, if you have the time you should buy it or at least rent it!>_<

I'm around 25-30 hours in (I think) because there's no in-game timer there's no way for me to know for sure. Since not really anyone has said anything about the game yet I'll post my impressions of it

The battle system is a new unique battle system, I can't stress how important this is to the game because this is a game breaker right here. It is extremely fun if you can get into it, I find myself on the edge of my seats sometimes because you will often find yourself on a very thin line between the verge of absolute victory or getting eaten by a dragon.

The voice actors are pretty darn good, there's no reason to dislike them, at the very least, and I myself actually like them, or I think I do at least, there's not much in the form of English voice actors for japanese games that I have had much respect for up til now. Anyway it's the first time in a long time I wasn't looking for a way to switch to japanese voice. Rush sounds very American from the trailers, but that's a truth in the game as well, he is brought up as a foreign person, with a different dialect then everyone else so while you may find his voice bad at first, it turns out to be okay given his character.

The music and story are things I don't have much to say for, the story is pretty good, nothing horribly cliche but since I'm not at the end it's hard for me to comment. The music has been pretty good but I haven't rushed to download any tracks from the game yet either, but I do like the reoccuring theme that's in the tracks so I might end up doing that later.

There are a few problems with the game, first and foremost, the framerate does drop a good amount during some battles. I personally don't mind but a lot of people find this a game breaker. Installing the game on your hard drive seems to alleviate some of the issues but it's still present. It's not as bad as the trailers though, and sometimes the slower frame rate helps you get those critical chances in so it's not all bad.

Rush walks like a retarded person. I don't want to be offensive to mentally handicapped people but he actually does in fact run like he's mentally handicapped in some way. This is only when you control him and you get used to it, or at least I did.

There's a warning message when you do certain things (overwrite saves, breakdown monsters into components) and it comes with an annoying beep. Maybe you won't find it annoying but it bugged the crap out of me.

Overall it's definitely worth checking it out, if you're worried do rent it, because the battle system may be a turn off, but it is a turn-based game and if you love turn-based games and thinking about strategies to win during each turn, this is probably a good game for you.

This game will probably go down in the books as something that was panned by critics but developed a cult following. I really can't agree with IGN's reviews, the previews glorify the battle system and then the review bashes it? That doesn't make sense to me.

In the end everyone seems to agree that the technical issues are a drawback, but that just draws the line, people who get used to it within the first few hours seem to love the game, and people who don't think the game is horrid.

Thanks for the point about taking out the warning beep though, I'll have to look into it when I get back to my 360 after the holidays are over.

I bought it a little while ago and I've been playing it when I have spare time. So far, I have to say that I do like it apart from the technical hiccups with the frame rate in battle and the weird thing the texture (background or otherwise) does after a load. Those issues don't don't ruin the experience...they're just a little annoying.

The voice acting is done really well and the battle system is fun once you get accustomed to it. I can't really comment on the story too much since I'm not that far into it. It seems to be adapting the typical "ordinary boy with powers overcoming the odds to save the world" type of deal, but it has my attention for the most part because the characters are interesting enough. I don't really understand why the reviews have been so bad for the game.. IGN gave it a 5.3 and Gamespot gave it a.6.7 "passable" grade. What the hell? I don't think it's that bad even for it's faults. Huh. It's not the glowing example of originality, but it's fun.
