Drinking a lot of water is good, but dont drink too much with out eating a little salt. I heard that a woman died by drinking a lot of water, and that she didnt have enough salt in her body. I usually drink water at home and gatorade/powerade at school so I dont drink an excess amount of water.

9 litres... thats way to much lol everyone should drink no more then 2 litres unless u have worked out/excercised/sweat. If you drink too much water u can die from Water Intoxication, also ur salt balance and water balance should be 'balanced' if there is too much water u can die :/ harsh but true

http://medical-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/hyperhydration

hyperhydration abnormally increased water content of the body.
hyperhydration /hy·per·hy·dra·tion/ (-hi-dra´shun) overhydration; excessive fluids in the body.

extreme cases
drinking too much water can eventually cause your brain to swell, stopping it regulating vital functions such as breathing, and causing death.
how does that happen? well, if you drink too much water the kidneys might be too slow to work out the water amount in your body, to remove it from your body, and as you know the water gets into the blood, and too much water results in low salt concentration of the blood. so as the diluted blood moves around your body, it enters the cells that don't have too much water, such as the brain, and since the blood has not enough salt concentration in it, this leads to swelling of the cells, organs, etc. the problem is that the brain will start to swell, too, but it has no way to escape as it is in a box(skull), so the pressure increases, and your head will start to hurt due to this pressure, as the brain will get literally squeezed and very important parts of the brain might experience a "stop", i.e. stop functioning properly, leading to abrupt breathing problems, i.e. stop breathing, which will automatically lead to death.
that's the so-called water intoxication, so if you drink a lot of water during a short period of time this can lead to water intoxication. first signs are a headache shortly after having drunk the high amount of water. which might be leading to ~ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyponatremia
so, if you are going to the toilet more than once every two hours, and the urine is of clear nature(usually urine should be a bit yellowish), then that might be already too much.

basic side effects
basically, if you water down your stomach acid too much you can ruin your stomach lining, and have gastro problems. In addition too much water can affect brain and blood function and also put strain on your bowels and kidneys.

3 litres per day should be enough for you if you don't partake in any sports that would lead to lots of water excretion such as sweating.

9 litres per day is really a lot, imo.

if you don't suffer of any symptoms such as
headaches
confusion
memory loss
weakness
dizziness
nausea
muscle cramps
slurred speech
confusion
loss of consciousness
seizures in severe cases

then i guess everything is okay...but really, 3 litres per day are enough.
how much water you drink is determined on your weight, height, metabolism, etc. as long as your are not having any of the above symptoms, then drink away, but imo you should only drink as much as your body desires, so when you don't feel thirsty, then don't drink, unless you are partaking at a marathon. lol

A lot is good, but too much is bad and lethal. Have you ever heard of Leah Betts?

I usually drink about 3 bottles of water a day. But i would imagine if you drank too much water it would actually be bad, too much of anything in your body is considered a poison.

Water is good for you but anything in excess will be harmful. It depends on your body size and how active you are, for me I drink a lot of water because im active plus I have 3 cans of Monster everyday. Anything with caffeine dehydrates your body.
