NOT AGAIN!! Model Kim Ji-hoo commits suicide

Ok. This has become absolutely ridiculous!! One suicide is way too many. But more? The number of suicides since Choi Jin-shil’s untimely departure has tragically risen.

At the tender age of 23, Kim Ji-hoo committed suicide as a result of rabid netizens who harassed the model for being gay. The model was part of the tvN program, “Coming out” and that didn’t sit well with some people.

Kim Ji-hoo was found dead on October 7th in the same manner as Choi Jin-shil. Police confirm that the death as suicide.

Please no more!

The Korean government needs establish a better social system so that the troubled can easily reach out and seize the help they desperately need. Although the government is reviewing a law to protect people from the spread of vicious rumors and slanderous comments on the internet, that may not be enough. Social pressures are what drives people to do things that they feel is the only way out. Feeling cornered with no alternatives results in desperate measures. What Korea really needs is an overhaul in the way our people think. And that will take time….if not generations.

It’s extremely sad and depressing to think that ending your life is the only answer. It’s not. It shouldn’t be. Life is too precious- we are here only for a short time and we must try to enjoy every minute we have.

This needs to stop.

Rest in peace.

According to the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development, South Korea has the highest suicide rate of any of its 30 members - which are almost all developed countries.

This is getting really freaky
It is sort of like some real life Death Note which targets Korean celebrities or something.
To all the celebrities who have passed away:
RIP

I hope that everyone out there, not only celebrities, will face life with more optimism and determination! JIAYOU! If you are stressed, eat some nice dark chocolate :)
Always look on the bright side of life

korea is way too conservative, to the point of superficial, shallow ignorance.
korea's internet bashings/flamings kill people. no joke.
u;nee, choi jin shil, jung sun hee's husband, the transgender guy (forgot his name), and now him.

rip.

korea has to learn how to be more accepting of other people's nationality, social status, and sexual preference.

eh?? suicides galore in s. korea? i really think it has to do with the culture---i've read in one of the threads here in cr or in another website that SK children are somewhat "brainwashed" (i dunno of a better term) that they are the best among the best, that if they fail, it is a great shame...that they'd rather take the coward's way out than face up to the music..

i think people there should have a support system so that this problem could be addressed better...to think that SK is a mostly Christian country where taking one's own life is considered a sin....

R.I.P. to all of them...
