Suicides occur everywhere in the world.. not only in korea.. so stop saying like it only happens in korea

Yes,you are right, Suicides occur everywhere in the world, but in this case Korea has the Highest suicide rate in the country if not close to the world.
I read someone on here stated that the United States probably has a higher rate, but NOPE,sorry to say,but Korea, and Japan, are above America. While, Korea's suicide rate is 24.8 of every 100,000 people that committed suicide last year(2007,and it has doubled this year), In the United States the suicide rate is 10.1 , and in Japan the suicide rate is 19.1 , and six in the United Kingdom.

I agree there is much more pressure, yet even when you commit suicide where do you stand it does not help anyone and especially yourself, your just dropping your problems onto someone else, especially when you have family members that care about you. Also,I agree with a sex tape in Asia it get's worse for you,but it's practically the same in the U.S,yeah you do get famous a least a little bit more, but it still ruins your career.

What Korea needs to start doing is start a Anti-Suicide Campaign, and find a way for everyone to cope with the thought of suicide, and not do it.

Anyways, R.I.P to the Model,I read somewhere Netizens where the ones to drive him away like this because of his sexuality,I really pity netizens, cause this is not the first time this has happened because of them.

Big reply... i dont want to really argue but its probably true what your saying.. although has it come to mind that korea and japan is smaller than U.S., the U.S. is almost like 10 times bigger than Japan and korea.. therefore the suicide rate is determined population percentage... so its no wonder korea and japan has a bigger suicide rate.

The Countries, japan and korea, are much smaller compared to the U.S. Making the U.S. suicide rate percent lesser than them because U.S. has a much larger population. Well thats all, Plus i just dont like people saying, "WHAT IS WRONG WITH KOREANS?" just sounds really racist to me for some reason because suicides happen everywhere

haha i didnt want to reply with such big paragraphs, well thanks for reading

i think good morals education & religion will prevent someone commits suicide..

in korea they provide good education (hightech or sumthin..) but less morals and this peoples think its okay 2 kill themself but no one knows whats waiting them after they die OMG..

come on..if you have no friends or family to share(not even join a group,blogs..lol), or no one understand ur big problems..u must believe GOD will help u the way out , that's why He creates us, life is a beautifull gift,. dont ever waste it 4 a dumbfool suicide..yeh..

That is really insensitive for you to say that. You want more ppl to die or something? Even if you don't know the person, you can't help but feel a bit sad for him/her and the family that is left to carry the agony. My condolences them all.

makes you want to hug the next celebrity you see and say "take a break, we don't mind!" but really, you never know what they are dealing with. I mean, I think that in a way, all celebrities are in some ways actors, even if they are just models or singers, or famous people, they all act, I think, in front of the camera's, happier and more satisfied than they really are,. I wish someone had been their to say to them, 'screw your fans, screw the paprazzi, screw your career, take a break and get back on your feet.'

here is another article:

Kim Ji-Hoo Found Dead in Apparent Suicide

Actor Kim Ji-who was found dead in his house in an apparent suicide, police said Wednesday, the fourth suicide by an entertainer in just one month.

Songpa Police Station confirmed the 23-year-old hung himself at his home in Jamsil, southern Seoul, Monday.

Police said they found a suicide note at the scene, saying, “I’m lonely and in a difficult situation. Please cremate my body.”

Kim’s death is the latest in a series of suicides. Transsexual entertainer Jang Chae-won hung herself in the bathroom of her home on Friday, following the deaths of actor Ahn Jae-hwan and actress Choi Jin-sil.

“Given the note and testimony from his family members, we believe he apparently committed suicide,” a police officer said.

Police said his suicide reflects public prejudice toward gay people and their difficulty in succeeding in the entertainment industry.

Following the announcement of his sexual orientation, Kim’s management agency did not renew his contract and many TV programs and fashion shows cancelled his appearances. His blog was bombarded with numerous messages denouncing his sexual orientation.

“He underwent many professional and personal difficulties following his coming-out,” Kim’s mother said during police questioning.

Hong Seok-chun, Kim’s aide and also homosexual, said, “Like me, he suffered from numerous discriminations against him.”

Born in 1985, Kim made his debut as a fashion model last year and appeared in some soap operas this year.

well i have to say alot of you are very dim minded. understand that koreans, japanese, chinese have extreme amounts of stress on them...ranging from family reputation and expectations. Celebrities that suicide usually have sort of issue within their lives. Whether it be relationship issues, gay issues, scandal issues, you must understand being a celebrity isnt always fabulous like it is publicized. Asian celebrities and western celebrities actually face different issues. Sex scandals can ruin your career in asia, while sex scandals in western countries will make your popularity rise. The stress level for kim ji-hoo was unimaginable in my opinion. Many of us in his position wouldnt have faired much better...he probably didnt have alot of support. I just hope they dont do that anymore.

You nailed it! your comment alone make some sense.

Agreed.
