Not necessary i think. There're other ways in which people get violent like from TV and so on. Unless you're telling me a kid of age 7 and below is playing violent games, then i may think it's a good reason since children of that age is prone to these things as they can't differentiate between reality over virtual.

It's not the reason, it's just a factor.

If you are THAT into the game, then yes.
If the game is just a leisure thing you play, like, one hour a day? I don't think it will have that big an influence

I think it definitely could be ONE reason why. I guess the more you play violent games, the more you think it's okay to be violent.

yea i agree with you frost. NO it is not a cause. If i am a violent person hu likes to play violent games it doesn't mean the game makes me violent. Its just my personality that make me want to play violent games. Yes some people may be influenced by the games but not directly. Some family troubles or financial worries make ignite the anger in someone and thus chaos happens.
Some ppl may say i'm wrong but i myself am a problem child in my childhood hu spends the time playing Mortal Kombat.

Is this really open to discussion? Honestly I think this is to the point where claiming this is like saying Jesus was a rapist and a suicide bomber.

Genetics decide upwards 70% of how a person behaves given they are in an extreme environment. This was proved by observing single egg (identical) twins who were separated at birth. They had the same fears and tastes in food, clothing, etc. Their behavior was insanely alike despite the major differences in how they were raised.

Violence in video games affect on behavior has been monitored by major universities as showing a decrease in violent behavior. This is because if you violently kill someone in a game, you get out a lot of pent up anger.

As humans it is perfectly natural to feel violent thoughts, urges, emotions, and so on. People who cannot accept or grasp this often search for reasons why, they know that environments do (limitedly) affect how a person behaves. They saw the video games and assumed they were the cause, disregarding the decrease in violence in the world (in fact most think the world is getting more violent, which isn't true either.) Not necessarily saying there were bad intentions behind this, they were simply mislead.

I could go on but i will spare you the time and say in short : No.

No? LOL WHATEVER. I know that it IS affecting people. They ARE getting more violent because of this. HELLO? Children aren't always intelligent, and I'm sure that it is contributing to their violent-ness. OK? If some of the violent teenagers today were NOT exposed to violent video games that involved things like Gangs, Alcohol, and drugs.. they wouldn't be like that! You people are just saying no, because YOU yourself is a gamer ok? So you know what? Don't feel bad about it. I mean as long as it didn't change you, but YOU should know that it DID change some people OK?

No! People who commit stupid acts just use that as an excuse for their bad behaviour. Image

Image I just think it's a poor excuse. A also think that people should just stop looking for things to blame for peoples ignorance and stupidity and just see that is really that persons idiocy and flat out silliness which made them do it.

It is possible. If that person thinks and believe that the game world and the reality are just the same... Therefore, there is a possibility that he or she will apply those violent things (from games) in real life.

But. Like what others said... It truly depends on the person. There are many instances, reasons that can result to ones violence. He or she maybe frustrated about something or someone and was unable to control his or her anger or aggressiveness thus leads to violence.

Depends on the environment he or she lives.

Other reason is, he or she is violent maybe due to his or her mental problem/ disorders (crazy, retard, etc.) wherein this person doesn't know or unaware that he or she is being violent to others. (Their mind is unable to process things in a right way.)
