I don't believe video games cause violent behavior. I guess it mostly depends on the person. :\

violent games can cause certain people to become violent mainly on people who take the game way to serious and people with weak timid minds who think its ok to actually do that kinda stuff in real life

I think they're therapeutic sometimes. |

Violent people are violent because they're violent people. Games are like sports, movies, music, and other mediums that cause a disturbed person to tip over the edge. Unfortunately, games tend to make people genuinely ticked off (obviously), but that's not a problem unless they have issues.

gonna throw my 2 cents in and say umm no, if this was case I would be a murdering, rapist, pedophile. "don't ask what type of games I play because I will never tell."

Indirectly, it teaches how a person to be violent..but whether the person puts it to practice or not is an entire different matter. I'll say its a no - violent people are violent for many reasons..I don't think violent games alone are the primary cause.

Video games are no more violent that what is already exposed to children and young adults these days by ways of movies or television dramas. Sure games have a more direct experience with the gamer, but in terms of exposure i thing the media does far more damage to the developing psyche.

It depends on the person. if the person is greatly overwhelmed with the game, like he is putting the game into reality. most likely, he could be violent. there are some incidents that a person commits crime, and most likely the reason is games or medias.

Nope, some people just don't know the difference between fantasy and reality. Among most times, this line is often distorted and they take it too far. Take for instance, Pokemon. Is Pokemon a violent game? No, but some people tend to overdo it because it's only a game based off the creator's love of insect collecting. Where all those silly pointless assumptions come from, it's from those same people who have never tried to play the game, watch the series or read the manga to get to know it first-hand. Do I play violent games? Depends on the level, yes but the real question is: Do they CONTROL me or for that matter, do they control us? Only if we let them...

So much time to deal with, and yet we're treating it with little care

By the way, if you hear me shout "HOW ABOUT THIS THREE-METRE RULE, B****!!" While I'm decimating another character, I'm totally referring to my choce of long-ranged weapon, and in no way referring to the three-metre rule of my beloved world-dominating, soul-sucking employer, which for copyright reasons, I shall refer to as "War-Mart". ........... :3 3-metre rule? +1 for the avatar I guess in the U.S. it would be three feet? Here if we're within 3 metres of a customer, we must smile warmly, greet them, and ask if we may help. Also, we are not allowed to utter cuss-words about them after they totally ignore us/ ream us out for no reason. It's like they don't think we're people ;_; ...I Don't hate -people-, I just hate customers. |
