Yet they were young and didn't see it coming.
Wouldn't you do things that you would never do if you knew you were going to die?

I'd wanna know, because if you knew others would die with you you could atleast save their lives.
I guess it matters the situation.

I wish they'd release more information on the shooter, particularly his motivations. I was in high school backj when Columbine happened so this brings back some memories. I can't say I was bothered too much by Columbine... just some kids who got tired of being stepped on and flipped out. I was always said "the score is 13 to 2... we're still ahead" after it. I'm not saying I aprove of it, I just understand where they're coming from. I don't think this shooting has much rhyme or reason behind it except some kid cracking under stress and taking his frustrations out on everyone.

I can already here Jack Thompson praying in his office "please let him play GTA... please let him play GTA..."

"Steger said the university decided to rely on e-mail and other electronic means of notifying members of the university, but with 11,000 people driving onto campus first thing in the morning, it was difficult to get the word out to everyone"

So why are classes only cancelled for the rest of the day and tommorrow?
Why are they taking it so lightly? 33 people dead on campus in less than 5 hours and a day and a half later they go back to school?

Yeah, this chunk of news is pretty big and we'll be hearing a lot about it. When I started going to school, four students committed suicide within the first month and it got a lot of attention. Looks like Virginia Tech is going to be on the map now, except the circumstances could be a lot better. I've honestly been expecting the domestic spree killings to resume for a couple months now because of our lack of international attention.

omg its right near me!! i saw police cars and amulances go by outside my window at school!! super sad and very scary.
i had just gotten on to post a topic like this...so sad...i think the two shootings are completly separate, neither one of the shooters knew the other was goin on...just my beliefs...

Quote from Virginia Tech president Charles Steger: "We had no reason to suspect any other incident was going to occur."

Is it just me or is that a ridiculous take on the first incident? If you also had no reason to suspect any other incident wasn't going to occur, then assume the worst case and take all precautions. It makes me mad to think that there were two hours between incidents and yet the second one wasn't prevented.
