you missed the point of the question. and you're factually and statistically wrong. the point is, young people have been having sex for a long time, but it IS becoming a trend and INCREASINGLY common amongst teens (at least in the U.S. and elsewhere). the teen pregnancy rate is reaching epidemic proportions!

like sakurablossom13 stated, A LOT of young girls are WANTING to get pregnant DELIBERATELY and engaging in risky behavior. and the sad thing is, a baby is not the only thing they're getting. the rate of STD's is climbing as well.

thanks for this post vanessa. it IS a major problem and i'm having trouble meeting girls these days in their early to mid 20's that DON'T have kids that are starting school!!! so then they're going to be grandmas by the time their my age??? crazy. children have no business having children. we have enough gangbangers as it is....

Ok first of all, most people in high school (espcially girls) should know the risk of having pregnancy at that age. Whether it is having the pain of giving birth or the part about having to take care of their kids and not being able to study for the important tests that could most likely decide their future. People with even the least amount of common sense should know that having a baby at that age is a horrible idea.

Secondly, unsafe sex IS the problem since what I just stated up there just probably stated that kids DON'T want children at that age. Everyone has probably heard that sex is the greatest feeling ever and it is that fact that kids are getting pushed into having sex at an earlier age which in turn leads to early pregnancy.

I might be wrong but.....oh well

let me be clearer: the point i was making is that the whole point of this topic is whether there seems to be a tendency for your teenage girls to want to get pregnant, NOT "what are the risks of unprotected sex." or can having sex lead to getting prenant, nor what teenage girls should or should not know about the risks of unprotected sex. these things are well established. the point is there is an INCREASING TREND AMONGST TEENAGE GIRLS TO TRY AND GET PREGNANT and doing so.

I would have to say that its not a trend, but rather a pure lack of self control, any random high school(this seems to be the more common one) girl who gets even the slightest bit horny, decides to act on it with out thinking, sometimes with any random guy who happens to be nearby, and due to that stupid decision that took 5 seconds to make, they screwed them selves for life. Well stupidity gets what stupidity wants right. It's sad really, there are some monkeys who have better self control.

Too many stupid and irresponsible people are having kids. Teens these days are poorly educated when it comes to sex. A lot of young girls also fail to realize how demanding a baby is. All they see/think when it comes to babies is: "AWWWW! They're so cute! I can't wait to have one of my own and dress it up in cute outfits!"

"mommy... hillary duff got pregnant.. can i be pregnant too?" is what i would say.. lol..young teens idolize celebrities and on almost every magazine cover there's a picture of someone with a big belly or "my life as a mother" caption on it. in my honest opinion, the media is subconsciously giving young teens the message that it's okay. and guess what... it sells.
