White people wearing fashions that originate in Asia does not mean they are trying to "act Asian" anymore than you wearing blue jeans means you are "acting white". many aspects of western culture (fashion, food, etc) have spread world wide and anyone can wear them.
whether you like it or not, in the future it will be the same with eastern clothes. you should be flattered that people around the world (Europe, America, etc.) are taking interest in Asian fashion, food and culture! why shouldn't I get mad when I see Asians wearing blue jeans or eating at a McDonald's? because its ridiculous that's why. in future, white women will wear Chinese qipao or Japanese kimono or Indian sari as often as Asian women wear western dresses or ballgowns. THEY ARE NOT TRYING TO BE ASIAN. they are just enjoying the beautiful fashions these cultures have produced. If you can't be flattered then at least stop being a hypocrite and go back to wearing traditional Asian clothes.

These are all photos of girls from the U.S that you can find on Metamorphose website...along with many more photos of girls from all around the world who do this fashion. Many of them do it well, some do not. It goes without saying , the scene is better in japan... that is where it originated, they have better resources and they've been doing it longer.
however, even Asians don't look good in the fashion all the time:

over time, the scene in the U.S and other western countries will improve. Japan will always be the best at Harajuku fashion but there is no reason the fashion shouldn't spread all over the world and anyone should be able to wear it. it is just a fashion, after all.

Some of you are painfully ignorant. You think a few photos can showcase a whole country?

Anyway, I'd like it to get out of everywhere period.

As long as you can pull it off,I think it would look fine here.I might try the gothic lolita style myself. Also its based on victorian clothing yes?so it could be worn in europe.Alos you may wear the style because you like the victorian look, not because you want to look japanese. In fact a lot of people here have no idea about harajuko so ill just say im going for the victorian look.

It should stay in Japan. That style is just awkward in America. Well if you look good in it by all means go ahead but you got to have confidence though wearing those in America to pull it off.
