Technically, dating back thousands of years B.C. when the Prophets prophesied about the Messiah, the prophesied about the Christ (Messiah) coming into the world through a virgin birth. The difference between Christianity and mythical religions, is that Christianity has prophets from the beginning of time who prophesied about the Messiah, and the Messiah (Jesus) fulfilled all of them to the very word. Christianity was not simply made up on a whim, but is the fulfillment of the Law (the Old Testament Law that was given through Moses and the prophets) Jesus was prophesied about thousands of years before His birth, and each one was fulfilled to the very word.

I'll agree, as far as I know there aren't too many prophesies, if any at all, in other religions. Of course there's going to be similarities in religions. I'm not sure where DarkPheonix is going with this similar religion thing. If he's calling Christianity unoriginal, then you could call this whole country and it's values unoriginal as well. Whatever, nothing is new under the sun.

It could just be polygenetic.
Furthermore, the Judeo-Christian faith has been around longer than you seem to state.

Alot of things in Christianity were tweaked an adjusted to encourage the pagans to join Christianity. Christmas is basically the winter solstice and traditions such at Christmas trees and yule tide logs come from pagan traditions. Eater come from the pagan celebration of spring and the fertility goddess eastre whose symbols were eggs and rabbits.

Dogon religion has been around for over 9000 years Its a lot older than Christianity.
At that Christianity like most other religions are branched off from Paganism.

well... if you fools have noticed. christianity was born from judaism, if it were not for the jews, there will be no christians. without adam and eve nor even abraham, there won't be any jesus or whatsoever! get your facts right people. again, i suggest you dolts read historical facts not religious ones! <_<

to connect christianity to that unknown cult is plain baseless and stupid. so what if there are similarities. it does not make something a copycat just for being unintentionally similar.

Unintentionally?

Time for a little history. The Idea of eating the flesh (bread) and drinking blood (wine) was stolen from that as well, how odd they even got that part of it. The fact is it was not one bit Unintentional, The stole stories, Holidays, and 90% of everything found in the bible from that Pagan religion. How can you think even for a sec. that its not just a copy of another religion? (and not even as good of one you ask me.)

About holidays, especially Christmas, it was a holiday adopted from the pagans. The idea of flesh and blood came from the messiah, Jesus Christ himself. If you got a problem with that, go invent your time machine, go back in time and question the wisdom of the so-called messiah himself. You can say that because Christianity now is different from what it was before.

About you, saying 90% of the bible that came from the pagan religion, that's absurd. 90% of what, old testament or new? First of all, the old testament came from the Jews. If you, saying that the Christian Bible is copied from the Pagans. Then it is same as you saying that the Jews, predecessors of Christians too are copying from the Pagans? Seriously, can you even support those claims?

Actually, the traditional answer is that they were intended to be similar. Christianity was so close to these other religions the early Church claimed that Satan had set them up to discredit the body of Christ. Learn your history.

Are you going to believe everything what is said and discussed in front of your classroom? Do you also think that your teachers got access to real documents, evidences and facts from those eras which is enough to support your claims? Everyone can write a book, everyone can claim and blaspheme or even fabricate you know. Are you even sure that those facts taught in your classroom is solid enough?

Evidence that is accurate? Or evidence that is manufactured to bring about a desired outcome? The fact is, is that the Historical accounts of the Bible are supported through archeology.
