basically items involved with watching licensed anime can be confiscated
meaning if you stream something like trigun which is licensed your computer can be taken away

what if you stream licensed shows from sites like Toonami Jetstream.com? I mean, they allow free streaming of their licensed stuff O_O

that's because you viewing it from the people who liscenced the cartoon/anime or they have permission
notice all toonami anime is dubbed? because stuff likelimewire, megavideo, fansubbed anime are all distributing the anime without permission, the recent anime are being shown because they are not licensed

The government really didn't think through the confiscation idea really well though. It only takes a little bit to completely wipe the hard drive and reinstall the OS so by the time their able to get their warrant and come to retrieve the computer you could "theoretical" already be home free. Chances are I'm wrong with that idea but it's still a nice dream even if it does turn out it can't be done.

Yeah, probably the best way to describe this law. You remember how your parents used to tell you, or still do tell you, that anyone can be anything they want, even president? I think I'm finally starting to believe them...

Were doomed.
An annoying president, yes, but at the same time we are at fault since we bankrupt the animators who made these shows....If there was a way on having them on the internet while we pay.....liek paying cable or some sort. and crunchyroll will be that cable.

if it goes through ,then you can say that people like us are "FUCKED" but just because a law is passed doesn't mean it will be enforced. especially with the American economy being the way it is. i think the folks at the government offices have better things to deal with than try and fund an operation that is this insignificant in the grand scheme of things. this is small potatoes and i personally feel that we are ok for the time being.i cant say this much for those of us who use lime wire because those are the dudes who they're going after first because of the high concentration of the illegal activity. and even if this site goes under, (god forbid), there will always be another to take its place, so streamers like us are good besides I'm not sure that you can be traced unless you are in the process uploading or downloading. in a nutshell i say "pfft".

yup, just a reminder to vote against the conservatives or this might happen:

"Canada's Conservative Party plans to reintroduce its own copyright legislation"

1st off, pplz,Prez. Bush [even being the [email protected] he is] cannot and did not pass this law alone.1st,it went through Congress.[Some of y'all need to re-watch (& listen to!) this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ouZTIqcvb30!]

This is going to make alot more pplz hate Prez. Bush, and he does not care,b/c Obama will replacing him in January, and he knows that. So,any mess left behind will have to be cleaned up by Prez. Obama instead.

I told my father about this, and he said: *One of the best technologies known to man,and no-1 is going to want it,anymore. The Internet will be going to hell in a handbasket.No-1 will even want services for it,anymore.*

Now,the reason he said that is something I agree with.Alot of use the Internet to get our anime......be it legit like from ebay.com or d/l'd from a site like DA-Anime.And,making us no longer want services will cut off alot of our ways to get animes.

Now,my question is this: Will we even be able to stream the animes that pplz had already uploaded?Or,is this going to cause sites like Crunchyroll.com, imeem.com & veoh.com to all be taken down permanently?
