I been watch anime since 5 years agoa I have to admit the one from back then wer five time more better than anime they havetoday. I mean we use to have Witchblade, Gundam seed, Death Note, Code Geass, Full metal Alchemist, Full metal Panic, One Piece, Bleach, Naruto, Sousei no Aquarion, Black Cat, Black Lagoon, Claymore, Detective Conan, Tantei Gakuen Q, Fate Stay Night, Karin, Lovely Complex, Mai hime, Mai otome, Negima, Shakugan no shana, Zero no Tsukaima, The melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Utawaerumono, Rurouni Kenshin, Tsubasa Chronicles,Saiunkoku monogatari, Eureka Seven, Gundam Wing, and ect.

Now those were good anime. They had good plot, good story, bad ass ending. And when it sad its actually really sad not just some boring sappy scene. And even if the anime isn't good by itself. At least the opening and ending music was lots better than the stuff we have today.
Hyakko, Soul Eater, Casshern Sins, Tytania, Shikabane hime: Aka, Kurozuka, Skip beat, Garei Zero, and Toradora, Xamd lost memories. I mean compare them to The anime back then they dont even come close.

i agree with this person. your thread doesn't make much since. I can however say that i've been watching anime for 13 years now, and i feel that anime hasn't even gone out of touch...not in the least. I feel that its gotten better. better CG, fighting, plots, etc.

Speed Racer, Tetsuwan Atom. man.. .there's nothing that compares to them on today.

Seriously, though, Black Lagoon is new. to me anyway. In two years time. you'll be saying that whatever is showing then doesn't live up to the good shows you remember from now.

I've been really looking for some new more intense Animes. I really liked Claymore, Mai Hime, FMA, FMP, and the first part of Black Lagoon out of your list. For intense shows, I'd also add Elfen Lied, the Ninja Scroll movie, Speed Grapher, and MONSTER. I have to agree, I haven't seen anything lately that's been a good quality intense show like any of these. So Anime might be losing its "edge" lately.

if you want better CG, fighting, plots, etc. you should request OVAs and ONAs from the creator, i tried... didn't work out the way i hoped... God dammit pplz!!! make a OVA for Full Metal Alchemist!!! And Straight Jacket!!!

some of what u listed are not even 5 years old yet Code Geass just ended like 3 weeks ago

but yes anime has gone down hill bute over the last 10 years and more.
now its all about bright colors and"pretty" characters and not the deep story telling. most of the stuff they put out are the same cookie cutter repeats. how many different DBZ rips do we need?

i dont think the art styles are 1/2 as good as the use to be. the darker more detailed and still hand drawn ones were so much better. and despite each scene having to be done by hand they still didnt use "stock footage like they do now
