The series is based on the 2005 interpretation of the folktale Chunhyangga. For the year 2005, Sassy Girl was one of the highest rating shows in Korea. Consistently on the top ten list, it has been a favorite among viewing public because of its different approach on love and marriage. Synopis: Delightful Girl Chun Hyang is the 2005 interpretation of the Legend of Chun-hyang. The story begins when Lee Mong-ryong is transferred from Seoul to a high school in Namwon, North Jeolla Province, because he is a trouble maker. He accidentally bumps into Chun-hyang, shots embarrassing photos of her and swaps her cell phone with his. As a result, they are constantly in touch with each other and find out they attend the same school. Mong-ryong constantly bullies Chun-hyang and due to an accident, they spend the night with each other. Nothing sexually occurs, though, but their reputation is ruined and thus, they are forced to marry each other in order to save their families' reputation. They like each other, but their relationship is strained by Mong-ryong's secret crush, Chae-rin, who gets jealous and by Byun Hak-do, a wealthy business man, who falls in love with Chun-hyang. As the high school's top student, Chun-Hyang helps Mong-Ryong learn the necessary grades to gain admission to the best University in South Korea. Rather than give up, Byun Hak-do becomes determined to make her to fall in love with him at any cost. He blackmails Chun-hyang into leaving Mong-ryong days before their official wedding ceremony. Chun-hyang dispears from his life and hides from both Mong-ryong and Byun Hak-do. When she visits Seoul again, some years later, Mong-ryong is Defensive Attorney. They bump again into each other and Chun-Hyang is afraid to admit her love, since Byun Hak-do is still willing to blackmail her with a video that could ruin Mong-ryong's career. In the end, Byun Hak-do lets go of Chun-hyang, realizing she will never love him. She marries Mong-ryong and everything ends well. The story is based off a traditional folk-lore so they have brief scenes of the same cast in the traditional setting which is pretty comical too. Personally I preferred this drama to My Girl, Goong and Full House.

Moderator Mel_W 3670 cr points Send Message: 27 / M / City of Devils Offline	Permalink Reply Quote Posted 12/3/07 i dun like the actors in this drama especially uhm tae woong.his face makes me wanna punch the hell out of him n the main actor is kind of gayish. the only reason i watched this was Han Chae Young.overall i think it was ok.kind of draggy at the last few episodes. I think some part of the drama were rubbish.i mean the lame jokes.it wasn't funny and it was unrealistic and there were some romantic scenes.cant really remember this drama though as i watched this long time ago.mayb i will watch it again just for Han Chae young.

So, so far, it's been good. I just haven't been watching it lately.

K-drama lovers should watch this ! The story is funny with a moderate dose of sadness. Jae Hee is just cute in this drama ! Love their uniforms !

Offline	Permalink Reply Quote Posted 12/9/07 hmm... there's a twist to this drama... it's called "Legend of Hyang Dan"... cast are choi si won as lee mong ryong and seo ji hye as hyang dan... but there's only two episodes i think.. love the first one though..Han Chae Young and Jae Hee are such cuties in here... love the ending...

Yeah, I want to see Legend of Hyang Dan too. In this story, instead of hooking up with Choon Hyang, Myoung Rong hooks up with Hyang Dan. I too heard it's only a mini-series with 2 episodes but mysoju.com has 5 episodes uploaded. Anyone know what the deal is with this? Oh and halfnhalf, do what my friend does. She calls it the Finale Syndrome where after a few slow or frustrating moments, she skips to the very last episode lol. She tells me she get's the whole story this way but I've never tried lol.

Offline	Permalink Reply Quote Posted 2/2/08 god! i loved this drama. i swear my sisters were so tired of my recommending them to watch it. i was obsessed with its songs too. and the part were the girls friend (the guy with the big voice, man he's hot!) kisses her other friend. i loved that scene.
