I hate stores that sell clothes with safety pins already in them. That store takes the things I enjoy and rapes it over, and over.

I like how Hot Topic takes their new fashion styles from Japan. It makes me laugh. Especially since the store is selling Cure (Visual Kei magazine that includes tips on visual kei band's clothing and makeup) now.

I don't see the point to bash on a store just because a section of kids shop there. There are better things to complain about than teens shopping at a store just so they can look cool, I mean it's the same at Abercrombie and Fitch and I never hear anyone complain about that store? Just because its the social acceptance, whereas Hot Topic is social suicide.

What world do live in where no one complains about the over-priced clothes at Abercrombie and fitch?
Hot topic = Abercombie and Fitch for emos

You are mistaken, Hot Topic is not "social suicide" it is "social acceptance". It's super trendy and it's "cool" if you shop there. It being expanded in malls and marketed the way it is, proves this. The millions of dollars the company owners have proves this as well. Even the "preppy" teenagers shop there. So you are mistaken about it being "social sucide".

Not really, I mean yes your right that its socially accepted in the age group that it reaches out to (i.e. preteens and young adults). But its social suicide in the mindset that, if you go out in public like that no one is going to take you seriously. The looks and comments people give alone are enough to drive someone crazy. But maybe social suicide wasn't the correct term for it, but the way I see it, it's not too far off.

And the only people that complain about the prices at Abercrombie and Fitch are the ones that can't afford to shop there which wasn't the point that I was trying to make. A vast majority of the population is poor but somehow they can still manage to get the clothes, so the cost of it isn't the point it. The point was (looking past the cost issue, since Hot Topic is just as expensive if not more) no one can find a valid reason to dislike the store, since A&F is the cookie cutter store of America.

Yes, it will not always be accepted but my point on the matter was that a majority of people accept it. One would think it's obvious that it would be commonly frowned upon by mid-adults to elders. Though, I see it being accepted by them even more. No matter how one looks at it , it's still trendy. Something can't be trendy if it is not accepted among the masses.

My dislike for Abercrombie and Fitch is that all the clothes look like they came right out of a fashion magazine. That is my personal dislike to them, aside the ridiculous price.

I won't dismiss a shop simply because it's trendy, or by the other people who shop there.

I do, however, dislike punk/goth/metal/whatever label you put on ill constructed clothing made to look nice.

So Hot Topic is a big no for me.

My dislike towards it is not the fact that it's trendy. I was making a point about acceptance in society.

I dislike it for it's manufactured commercialization on many things.

I'm afraid of that place. My sister forces me to go pick her school supplies from there. Made me walk to get her damn Fall Out Boy notebook and special Fall Out Boy paper. I just wear anime shirts I get from Box sets and Stuff. Most of the time I just go to anime stores to get shirts other than that. I WANT EUREKA 7 VOLUME 3!!! COMES WITH XL SHIRT.
