These "My (Language) Coach" titles aren't that great. Use them only as supplements to some form of actual study in your language of choice. They are not useful for actually learning the language in question. (I base this opinion from My French Coach, having a fair knowledge of French myself. I have not tried this particular software, but am sure it uses the same ideas.)

I'm playing this! The japanese one is fairly good, it's got lots of stuff I've already know, and they give u quizzes and games to learn. I'm currently learning to read and write hiragana. This one is good.

Now, im fluent in chinese, and ive taken classes before and I got the Chinese coach just to test myself. It kinda sucks. THe pinyin is weird, pronunciation is a little weird, and format is hard to follow. Wouldn't reccomend this one.

I recently bought this (waiting for it to be delivered) for just £14.99 at amazon, and I'm so excited as it'll give me a little introduction into learning a new langauge, I understand it's not the end all of learning but even basic skills and conversationsal stuff will be useful as a start. I already know how to write my name so I guess thats a bit of a head start lol in a tiny way.
But yeah I should have it by monday so I'll give you all a fair opinion on it by then. haha be great to learn perfect Japanese by tuesday but thats just a dream :P.
If these langauge coaches work I think it's a good way to atleast broaden knowledge of speaking as many english speaking people don't bother to learn new langauges, which is upsetting =[. it upsets me hearing about people moving to britian having to change their first names just because british people won't be able to pronounce it. but given the time I'm sure we can...oh dear I'm bleathering arn't I! ^^'

I agree, this does only work as a supplement and can definitely not replace actual lessons or classes. Not to mention, the game has some errors in it.
