I find it interesting actually, i hear its quite common to bung a LS type engine into these things. although front slightly heavy it must be a handful when u give it the beans! From what I've been told, LS swapped RX7s balance is not much different from having a rotary unless you consider 30 lbs to be a significant difference. yea guys LS are a lot lighter than you think, it probably weighs the same as a KA24(240sx us motor) block actully the LS is a bit lighter then the ka24de and has better fuel economy....its amazing what can happen to engines in a 17 year span. there is a company that makes a drop in kit for the LS for the s13. i forget the name tho. its in the nico240 forums. actually i think you still have to fabricate little things, my friend recently got his done (nmssr08 on nico) his names taka has a beautiful candy apple red kouki and from what i remember hes starting to mod it (na) but a supercharger would be sweet..supercharged v8....ftw he comes to my meets regularly |

rx7 forum huh?
Bought an 87 fc3s t2 'bout 3 years ago, hoping to get an FD... I started toying around with the car... ended up with a 3 rotor and a decent sized garret turbo... And don't think ill be getting rid of this guy for a while for the 3rd gen, hehe~ Didnt want toooo much power so went with street ports... but dyno'd at 549.4 whp at 9 pounds... Race fuel and a trip to the track boosting up and getting 792 whp, maybe i suck but i cant go sub 10's. Truly rotory cars are kinda high maintenance and costly due to lack of parts, but i daily drive my car and have 46k kilometers on the engine and it's still pulling hard~ Who needs pistons? |

RX-7 FD is the best out of the bunch. But even a V8 FC will do... Sad to say, but most LSx V8 conversions address most of the shortcomings of the rotary really well. The V8 can be tuned way beyond the 13B's capability and live longer doing it. Long term reliability (no apex seals)?
Tire-shredding torque? 400+ NA HP? Parts availability and cost? Better mileage? |

When you see people driving around a self-tuned rotary car (not just bought off the lot), you can automatically assume that these people are ROTARDS... knowing full well the extent of grievances they will face.
Ive always gone single turbo with no NA tuning so haven't had the fun of figuring out the NA's capabilities, but pre20b for me, i swapped a cosmos 13b-RE and hybrid turbo... playing around with it to reach a borderline dangerous max of 489 whp @15psi on pump fuel.... A reply to Yangss14: well, yeah I set off to limit power to a limit....at first... but when is it ever really enough? I've visited the drifting scene, but was hospitalized for 2 months when I rolled my s2k off the Sea to Sky highway by Whistler, BC. And when my 13b finally blew (was trying to hold and maintain 800+ which required a mod to 10k rpm) after about a year, I decided to try something different. And I'm sorry, I was mistaken, I remembered my first low boost being set to 9psi, but the new set low was 13psi giving the 549 (pre race week last autumn). As for my turbo... naishyo da!~want a hint? part of it started as a gt55r..... kind of a experimental hybrid~ hehehe Keep your car in good tune though for sure~ Running microtech lt12 purchased through my tuner, but tuning on dyno is free as long as I make some sort of upgrade or change~ hehe I'm not really a piston hater per se.... i do have an 08 m3... but boost is crack and I am a rotard |

I seriously hate rotary motors..
Unless it's in a Corolla like this guy I met on the track! Shit is fucking ridiculous. |
