It looks like SM Entertainment won't be the only one benefiting from expansion into other countries. Just as SM Entertainment is the most dominant record label in Korea with their Allstar lineup, Johnny's Entertainment is SM's equivalent, if not superior, producing the top teen idol bands in Japan.

We've all seen the large boom in Korean entertainment throughout Asia these past couple years, especially with BoA and DBSK in the Japanese market. Well, Johnny's Entertainment and their hit groups such as NewS,Arashi, SMAP and Kat-Tun have also been growing quite a strong following in Korea.

Many Korean's prefer the Japanese pop groups because:
"The way a Japanese idol matures along with their fans starting from their junior days, is an amazing thing. There are many Korean fans that prefer Japanese idols instead of the Korean idols that debut perfected."

In any regards, Johnny's Entertainment will be opening a Korean office shortly, which seems to be due to Arashi's huge Korean following, approximately 200,000 fans and NewS who have 400,000 fans

I personally love this idea(:

I LOVE THE IDEA TOO...

Japanese wave here they come! I wish they will expand in other countries too! Too good for JE guys, I mean have you heard Yamapi's incident when he came to Korea, it only means he have lots of fans and that could mean other JE guys have a huge success if they will come to Korea!
And I agree, its quite different because in JE you will really see the guys mature from their kid-teen-adults and plus you can feel all their hardwork!

I wish they will have success on this project!

i dont think theyre gonna do great but they might just get by ok. if they do go through with this plan of theirs then theyre gonna need better songs, better dancing, and grow a bit taller. i wonder what will happen if they only air the je's singers and not sm's chinese singers?

so, JE's boybands like newS were created just to be an idol but at the same time doing wat they aren't capable to do(singing etc)???
hahahaha, wat a joke...

based on dictionary.com;
idol means any person or thing regarded with blind admiration, adoration, or devotion
so, wat the fans can admire those untalented guys if they cant sing nor act???
admire their pretty faces, huh?????

No offense, but i personally think that there are a LOT from JE who can "act"
Yamashita Tomohiasa, Matsumoto Jun, Nishikido Ryo, Nagase Tomoya, Ikuta Toma, Kimura Takuya are some

"some" of them can sing just perfectly fine too

almost all of them can act..
kimura takuya are a good actor, but as a singer, i don't think so..

I dont see why though.... i mean the music industry in korea right now pitiful. even if JE has fans in korea, it doesnt mean they will go out and buy their albums. The average kartist(besides DBSK) cant even sell up to 100k in korea. also, no offense but most of the JE boys cant really sing. they are good for eye candy but that's probably as good as it gets for me

quite true. JE boys can earn more than sufficient just in Japan alone. Yamapi's collaboration with Kame sold like one million in a month or something. this is something i dont think even dbsk is capable of doing in korea.
JE shouldnt waste their time and effort.
seriously speaking korean market is pathetic.
although yamapi is like REALLY popular in Korea. he was totally MOBBED at Incheon Airport when he went to Korea for a personal trip. I thought he would die inside the crowd of fanatically crazy fangirls, all trying to tear a piece of him off.
even Yoon Eun Hye is a yamapi fangirl.

lol seriously? yoon eun hye is a yamapi fangirl? o-O

wtf???
the untalented news have 400 000 fans??????
i'll prefer shinee(which i extremely hate) rather than news....
stupid fans
they're IDOLS more than singers. I'm not fan of NewS but I'm fan of some groups from JE so don't call us stupid. There are thousands of people in JE so there are some talented people and untalented. don't compare them with shinee, because shinee is singer not idol. they're in different category.

i think what she meant is that in japan, when they say you're an idol it does not necessarily mean you are so good in singing. singing is JUST one of the things you should be able to do. you should be good in dancing and acting too. almost all of the je boys are good in dancing. well when it comes to singing SOME of them could sing and even compose/produce their own songs. that's why they are put into groups so that they could fill in what the other members lack. most of the idols focus more in acting, since having a good voice is a god given talent that even long hours of practicing couldn't give (ok maybe your voice control etc. would get better but the quality itself, you can't change, like someone said there are born singers, and trained singers). although they should also have more singing lessons to sharpen their skills. and most of the famous idols are famous for their acting skills not their singing ability.

regarding the expansion of je in korea, im curious to how it will turn out. generally their sales in japan is really good. while the sales of hit artists in korea is lower than in japan. plus, i wonder how the fans will react. i mean, when yamapi went to korea on a supposedly private trip he was harassed by some of his fans he was already that famous there when je haven't even promoted them thoroughly in korea. i wonder how it'll turn out...

Johnny Kitagawa just wanna molest some more korean boys lmfaoo jk jk
oh please if JE ever comes to Korea they have YG,JYP,and SM coming for them.
SM is already successful that it has US, Canada and China branches also BoA's debut.JYP also has good artists look at Rain he's gonna be a lead in an American movie in 2009(correct me if i'm wrong) also the Wonder Girls are going to US in 2009 to pursue acting careers as Park Jin Young said. Then there's YG who just recently sent Big Bang to Japan to promote Number 1 and will debut the female version of Big Bang(Park Bom, CL,Sandara Park and Gong Min Ji) later on .
