Post Reply Blade, Path and Clash?
Posted 10/28/08
What are blades created for and why?
What do most people use blades for and why?
What do you think a blade should be used for and why?
Have you ever used a blade and for what?
Do you have a pictures to post(must deal with the concept of blades)?
Do you have anything else to share that deals with this topic?

Well, I guess I have to start things off. Blades are just created to obtain power because some people need power to complete their goals. Most people use blades solely to harm because they feel threaten or dislike a person(s) for whatever reason. I think a blade should be used to protect because "great power comes with great responsibility" and it would be more responsible to aim to protect instead of to harm. I have used a kitchen knife or butter knife to make food :D

*two swordsmen square off and clash blade with blade, but one swordsmen stops to say*

It has come to present that our paths have crossed. I want you to know even if we are enemies...that we are just proud men who believe in our ideologies. Neither is wrong or right, but at least one must die...

*the two swordsmen continue there fight to only die in a draw, but their ideologies will never die*

Depends on what you mean by blades. A blade is just a cutting tool. It can be used to cut a number of things. Though I believe the context here would be as weapons. Blades are weapons and thus are created to injure, defeat, or destroy an entity. Why? Because tools to assist the overcoming of an opposition are needed sometimes.

They use blades [in the context of weapons] to assist in the harm of an opposition. Why? Because that's what weapons are designed to do and a weapon is defined by it's designated purpose.

Exactly what it is meant to do; to assist in the harm of an opposition./green]

Yes. To injure a person who was trying to harm me.

A blade [in the context of a weapon] is used for one thing and one thing only; it's aforementioned designated use. However why a person inflicts damage on a person is broader topic. In kenjutsu, one either wields a katsujinken or a satsuninken. The katsujinken is a sword that gives life. For example; if a man is murderous in his intent to kill many, the act of killing said individual will thus save the lives of many. This case is justified as katsujinken. Another side of katsujinken is the application of tsumeru and the principle of seigen or restraint. The satsuninken is the sword that takes lives, signifying unjustified motives for taking one's life.

i think blades were made to kill, injure, and to be a handy cutting tool, because its long and sharpe, plus ! some the greatest warriors uses one, either to kill or injure

people use blade to kill and injure, because its a simple easy to use weapon. Plus, it does alot of damage

i think blades should be used to protect yourself and others or to punish your foes. you'll gain respect and you'll be feared by your enemys.

i have used a blade before, i was just messin with it.. i didn't do anything serious with it lol

well everyone knows that blades are made for killing/cuting/skaoping.

every persone has a difrent reson for drawing a blade wether it is for protecting, or out of anger or reveng, or just for the plesure of it.

i think a blade should be used for whatever you desire to be used as

i use many blades for many resons protections the main reason then theres cuting things open like boxes and bags and stuff. and i use my sword for pratice incase i may ever need it.

Hello,my name is Stoney. I must agree with ice blue eyes, life giving sword has been a concept since the Yagyu clan. Many warriors over the ages have tried too understand even our dear Musashi tried.Allthough I believe it's more than too safe guard life. The main concept of welding blades is to attack a person. It was made too open human flesh without chopping or hacking but too cut. If you weld your blade correctly like a umbrella and not a baseball bat you will see.
