If someone has a knife and chasing you for a kill, chances are you won't think at all. It's either fight or flight response. =D

Meditation to me is a way to get connected with my feelings. Because my thoughts can be faulty if my mind wasn't clear, but my feelings are the reflections caused by my surroundings. Humans have the ability to feel emotions because this helps us to understand each other better through empathy, and that's why we're social creatures.

So jhaybz29, just like what ShockingVibes was suggesting, I think you have pimped up stress accumulated from you daily life. You were neglecting those feelings because you were concentrating on your thoughts, and only when you just got into meditation that they hit you all at once. The proof is the way how your body was reacting; it's reacting exactly as a person would be when under heavy stress.

If you want true inner peace, then meditation is only a doorway to your journey of obtaining inner peace through strength. Your next step is to find your center, that inner voice which you're trying to protect with morality. Then from that point on, redefine your surroundings and brace yourself with courage. You'll be in for a surprise.

thank you very much for this advice, i just cant express much, but i will try this.
and yeah things have been really really messy for me lately. again thanks

You're welcome, I'm glad to be of help.

The late Mahatma Gandhi once said:

Be the change you want to see in the world.

Through meditation and martial arts training, I've discovered the truth about my strength, my skills, and my surroundings. I can only change the things I want through applying my strength, and this is true for everything that's within my reach. If I want to change something that's beyond my reach, then I'll just advance my position to reach it with my skills.

I hope this will help you to change those things that are messing with your life, in order for you to gain peace in your life.

._. I don't notice what my body does when I do meditate.

I focus only on one thought when I meditate.

Well just recently, ive been researching about meditation and how to meditate (ill keep the reasons for myself), though i felt quite different from what i really expect it to feel. as from what i research meditation is a way to clear the mind of any thoughts may it be negative or positive, and to reach a state of inner peace (as in not to think of work, of school, of problems, of anime ,of the internet, of anything) i followed just what the beginners guide to meditation said.

at first i cant seem to stop thinking of anything, i could either make humming sounds just to set my mind off from what im thinking, but then i feel like counting my breath. not like from what meditation is, counting is still considered as thinking so i was doing it wrong.

but when i finally manage to get to a state where, like from what meditation is described a state where you don't think of anything (inner peace), but then i suddenly felt a heavy swaying of my body, then i notice my breathe is getting shorter and shorter so i panicked and snapped out from meditation.

Has anyone here every tried meditation? does anyone ever experience that when meditating? am i doing something wrong?

(P.S if you see a duplicate of this thread and, if this is posted on a wrong section sorry and pls report it. just want the thread to be read by lots of posters in CR since most of the active poster are viewing the general threads.)

well no one realy seems to be of help to you maby i could try. meditation is used for your "mind, body, and soul".first there are acualy deferint typs of meditation the one your trying to do is deep meditation wich is used to open your mind and setle your thoughts to calm you, and after you learn this it can help open your mind to other things. i would recomend that you try and do this in the morning for about 2 hours a day to start off(or more if you'd like).

well try what i did at first. focuse on one little thing in your mind block everything out excipt that one thing. then slowly change that thing into nothing, erase it from your mind complitly and then there will be nothing but a blank space. when this is done fill it with wite space this will open your minds site(or the tird eye) after that it is your chooise on what to do.

the next step to this would be power meditation. (its kinda hard to use if you dont know chi) this helps open your body and your chi points. this helps gives you stamina for things such as laber working for long periods of times, it encrises your reflexes time, gives you a higher awarnes of your serroundings and other verios things. you can only do this after you have finished learning deep medition to get into a train of tought after this you must tape into you chi and focuse it through your hole body and try and hold a high lvl for as long as possible. im still on this stage of my training and it may take me another 4 years at best before i complete it. so i cant give you much on it.

then there is the finnal step wich involves the soul and gives a higher lvl of ones self. nothing much i can give you on that try finding a master of the arts to teach you about it.

ok got that, to be really honest i never tried it on mornings but rather in the afternoon or at night around 9-10pm (i also tried sleep meditation, still the result seemed odd), i know a bit about that power meditation but only seen instructions as text, i tried it and my muscle just starts to twitch. ill try applying all those points that you said, and thanks much about this info.

Stop repeating everything you've heard without construct, you're not making any sense at all. At least take yourself seriously if you wish to be of help to anyone, otherwise:

i do not repeat things that i have heard but what i have done experienced, you must read things withen depth to understand them. and i take myself very seriously. dont patronize me just because you dont understand. iv been learning the arts seence i was 11 years old.

Then have you matured enough to understand what you've heard since you were 11? My answer to that is no, otherwise you would've also be using proper grammars.

If you do, then why would you be suggesting me to read your post within depth in order for me to understand, when the nature of understanding is to make clear? My answer to that is because you can't even make clear of what you've heard after all these years.

Therefore, I didn't patronized you because I don't understand, no. I'm angry at you because of your lack of effort to make people to understand, and at your immaturity.

I dare you, I double damn dare you to read all my previous posts regarding meditation on this thread, and then come back to me with any question that you may have. I'll make the effort to help you understand what I said, for I'm mature enough to acknowledge my own actions.
