That what I think too.Once you think about it, British and some western Europe had brought with them science and modern technology, democracy, self-interest and global economics to other countries have better trade. Not only that countries that been colonized shared their self-interest and trade such as healthy foods to Europeans Without all this, will be stuck in the Middle Ages.

Thailand and Japan are two countries that have survived colonial attempts on their countries due to in part to enlightened leaders. All these benefits that you claim that such colonies do receive can also be received without colonising. By colonising, you impose your ideals on them and bring your own set of prejudices on them too. Just imagine the largest biggest girl in your school punching up all the girls and telling them to join her gang and follow her fashion sense. Do you enjoy being dominated and punched around? Or a shared friendship of ideas instead such as in Thailand and Japan?

I answer this with a poem

How I Got The Lead On Jeopardy:

The score is 200 We’re all tied neck and neck And it’s my turn to address Alex Trebek I close my eyes and I thank the Lord Finally, my category is on the board “I’ll take f*cked up things white people do for a thousand, Alex! A bell went off, this could mean trouble “Today’s answer my friends is a Daily Double.” I took a deep breath, I held myself steady And Alex Trebek was like, “Dave are you ready?” Hit the buzzer, “What is yes!.” And Alex said, “I didn’t ask you the question yet,” “Now how much money you willing to bet?” Smiled with confidence, my hand on my balls I said, “Alex, I’m willing to bet it all.” And Alex said, “Okay, here’s your question.” “They stole these people’s land and then gave them syphilis.” Hit the buzzer “Who is everybody that’s not white!” Alex looks at the card disappointed "Oh, my God, he's right." -Dave Chapelle

Japan survived due to isolationist ideals, and japan was an asian colonial power, its colonized several areas in south west asia, what japan was was a girl who was almost as big as the other girl who picked on another group of people and forced them to be in her gang, and though she wasn't strong enough keep the people she picked on down and eventually she gave up...until she saw the bigger girls get into huge fight and she decided to join the new biggest girl and together they beat the other big girls around, until they made two big mistakes, attacking the two sleeping giants, after kicking the american girl's shins and her friend starting to beat the russian girl, they realized they were doomed, after the british and french girl managed to start beating the german girl and the american girl started beating her and actually broke her arm in retaliation for all the horrible beatings she did to the other small girls who the bigger girls were too preoccupied and surprised at her strength to protect,i dont know enough of thai history to give an analogy of them apart from that they conquered the ancient khmer empire thousands of years ago,but i thought thailand was part of french indochina, guess not.

Misfacts
Japan didn't survive colonialism due to isolationism, the isolationism herald the end of Tokugawa era accelerated in part due to the arrival of the American ship in their harbor and led to the Meiji restoration where due to enlightened leaders, Europeans experts were invited to Japan on issues of politics, economy and social issues. Thailand was never a colony though there were skirmishes in their indochina treaties with french vinchy forces which in the end, it was Thailand who secure concessions from the French vinchy and secure their territories.

Answer my question.
Its nice and all that you answered my question with another anology of girls beating up one another, (girls don't do that have more deadly and subtle weapons in our disposal) but the fact is you still didn't answer my question.

I was sort of answering your question by saying that you can't call the japanese friendly, they were no better than the europeans in their ways of annexing territories when they needed them, and the japanese brought plenty of prejudice with them and forced their ideals on others, several invasions of china, korea and the south pacific have occured for centuries and the people they conquered were by no means happy to be under japanese influence, and my question to you is that what do you mean a shared friendship of ideas?the japanese held the power and the subjected people were beneath them,i dont call that sharing,i call that dominating.

Kinda pointless seems you are missing my point (ENGLIGHTENED LEADERS INVITE FOREIGNERS INTO COUNTRY AND SHARE IDEAS) and looks like you more or less did answer my question in a most roundabout way possible (wasting so many pointless threads asking you to explain clearly). You do well in politics for sure Adaephon.
