[ TUT ] Crunchyland Avatars

Well, I thought it'll be good to have a tutorial on how to make Crunchyland Avatars.
If it is already posted up or it doesn't help, do feel free to delete this.

NEED TO KNOW FOR ALL DESIGNS
- The image NEEDS to be transparent.
- Best size at 200W x 300H pixel [if it's smaller, then it's alright. Just try not to make it bigger.]
- File format : PNG or GIF
- ONLY the image of the item! DO NOT add in the Avatar of the Class.
- NO Copyrighted designs.

How to create a New Avatar Class?

It's simple just draw a new avatar class in anything [paint, adobe photoshop etc.]

Go here :

Type in your avatar class name and add some description.
Upload your pic and press Submit Avatar Design.

How to create a New Item for a Class?
at the design URL page, scroll down to see "design an item for one of these Avatar classes".
below it should be the list of classes. Just choose any one of them.

I'll be using Chibi Avatar and Adobe photoshop CS3

Get the preview image and open it in Adobe Photoshop CS3 [or any other program you use] DONT add a background color to it. If not it'll be troublesome to remove it later.

Draw the item you want on a new layer. DON'T draw on the avatar layer.

Delete the avatar layer away. DO NOT move your item layer. DO NOT crop it so it'll look smaller and neater. All this will make the position of the item off.

Save it in PNG or GIF format.

Click browse. Find where you save the image, click okay and it's uploaded. You'll be able to see a preview on the left where the avatar is. Add in the details like the name, description and the stats etc.

Right below the Price (Gold) is Usable.
If it's like a potion or something that boost the stats, please check the box.
If it is not, DO NOT check it.
If it isnt a usable item, ignore the rest of the form below it. Just jump straight to the Stat Modifiers

The same only you don't have to use the preview. Just draw something and upload it.

well here is what i like to consider my skill chart
Anime-girl,chibi,fairy = professional items
boy,girl, onigiri, onigiri fighter = Normal items
roll jr, shinji jr, Minotaurgirl = Beginner items

1.We don't approve on how many stars u have on items cause all the naruto shit gets 94098244 votes on 5
2.We don't care about your feelings so i reject reject reject O:
3.I hate premodonna's so if you act like your all that, when your not it pisses me off
4.I hate non-original stuff
5.I reject items that are just "pink-eyes" or "x hairband" i think its the stupidest thing in the world to make 400 shades of pink and upload them for eyes, it makes my job a lot harder, so i reject them.
6.Items with stats that dont follow stat rules i reject, unless they are awesome
7.Items with "%" in their stats are automatic rejection, unless awesome
8.If someone doesn't listen to a PM i send them about stats, or mails me repetitively i get mad, and u wont like me when I'm mad.

ne..now i did see a thread like this.cheers im sure this would help many designers, especially designer-to-be

Ahh!!! its so hard to make an avatar!!!

One thing i realized when I 1st tried:

The template avatar picture is the actual size as seen on the website.
Its quite small imo, and may be quite hard to add fine details, almost as if pixel art skillz needed.

An easier way would be to increase the size in photoshop/ whatever.... draw your design etc, then remember to resize it back to the needed original size before you upload it.

Can i use ms PAINT to designh any avatar?

Any programs that people use to make it a transparent gif? i use Corel Painter essentials 3 and I cant seem to isolate the layer that contains the item and make it a transparant gif.

add some details. what do you mean? like when you press upload it doesn't appear in "My Designs" or something?



Yes u can...but it's harder to do it this way, cause you can't delete the template if you're using it on MS Paint.
