Why do a lot of people say Kaname is evil?

Wow, Hmmm poor Kaname you guys are like the town people from books suck as Frankenstein, with pitch forks ready to kill the guy. But like I have said I do not think he is evil. Just imagine that Kaname would have died..... Would you think that alot of people such as Yuuki and Zero would be dead by now????

I don't think Kaname is evil. You can tell he's a bit sinister, but what vampire isn't? Also, people will say he is evil when they understand him-he's mysterious and a lot of people will construe it as evilness. He's not exactly open with his feelings.

I think a Lot of people think kaname is EVIL because he is so disturbing with Zero & Yuuki and he is too whiny also and too possesive and obnoxius in additions to his pig's head jerk!

i dont think he is evil per se... he does things wrong yes. i will agree that he does evil things. but he waited 10 years for his sister/lover to remember him. plus hes tired of all the corruption in the society... i think he has good intentions so, no hes not evil

At first he seemed like the bad guy, but he was just trying to protect his only family. He probably seemed evil because of the way he acted towards Zero, but he was just jealous that Zero was always with his sister and not him. I guess. tabun

and not think of them as pawns and things that can easily be replaced.

I think that as a pureblood, he HAVE to lead and discipline the other vampires...so enough about him mistreating Aido already. Not saying he deserve it, just that he doesn't seem to learn his lesson.

Another obvious point about him hating Zero - he's a rival for Yuuki's attention and affection, so of course Zero's not his favorite person...duh! It's true that he kept him around in order for him to kill Rido, but that's not the only reason...1) Yuuki will be upset and that's definitely not an option 2) If Rido is allowed to live, the chances of humans survival is none 3) The last request/promise his parents made him keep is to protect Yuuki and the only option to ensure that just happens to be Zero, so what do you think he'll do?...take it of course! He's not dumb and an idiot..jeez.

It took a lot to actually let Zero be the one to kill Rido, i mean kaname have a lot of pride and he'll kill Rido himself if he could but since he can't, he's willing to take a back seat in this...shows how much he cares/loves Yuuki to ensure that her safety is his first priority.

I must admit that the chess thing seems rather calculating, but at best, he's just trying to cover all bases and strategy's.

A vampire who resist drinking the blood of the one he truly wants for ten years can't be evil...compared to Zero who say that vampires have no self-control then went on ahead sucking on Yuuki's blood. With or without permission, he have no right bashing other vampires when he have NO CONTROL of himself. He kept saying he won't let her be turned into one so what does that mean? He wants her to be HIS blood supplier and his only? Nice...

Don't mean to turn this into an argument about Kaname vs Zero but i'm simply comparing this two guys. If Kaname's evil, should take a closer look at Zero too...he's so full of s***
