Okay, so i did a little research about Laurent...

Stephenie Meyer described him as:

"The man in front was easily the most beautiful, his skin olive-toned beneath the typical pallor, his hair a
glossy black. He was of a medium build, hard-muscled, of course, but nothing next to Emmett's brawn.
He smiled an easy smile, exposing a flash of gleaming white teeth."
~ Chapter 18: The Hunt, Twilight ~

So, i kinda googled it and found out that olive-toned skin kinda look like this:

So, Laurent should be dark-skinned...

hmmm thats the thing though....if u watch the trailer Bella is like ur skin is pale white...blahblah....and throughout the whole series i have the image of vampires as pale white. Because thats just how all the descriptions were but it seems mayb that those are the american vampires? cuz in the 4 one they'res the amazon ones and african so im thinking mayb they're not pale white but i have always imagined vampires as pale white because all stories i've heard they have been! not 2 b rong but lolz cuz i love dark skinned people but for vampires....ummm i dunno it just isn't rite

the reason they used edi gathegi (and an asian guy for eric) is because they wanted to be more... eh , idk the word . non-racist ? like , they wanted to get a variety .

besides , its only based on the book , which means they can change a detail here or there .

hMm.. the vampire born on 19th entury is really pale..
but not all vampires are pale in color..

well what i understood when she said in the book that he was olive tone was that he was dark in skin color...but pale in the complexion. so his skin compare to other ppl his color is pale. =P
