Yes I do.No pain,no gain.
Ed and Al did not manage to transmute her Mom is most likely because they did not gave an equivalent value of a living organism.
That's my opinion anyway.

Hmmm....evryone has some good answers. My answer is yes & no. Equivalent Exchange does exist in some sense. Its kinda like Karma that some comments have already stated. Equivalent Exchange is all about equalness. If you want something, you simply have to give up something of equal value. Someone earlier said No cuz they studied for a test & still failed it. My opinion is that that person just didnt study well enough. Tho the easiest example would be that you get to keep your power cuz you paid the bill.

It's a nice idea that you can get something just by giving something in return,
but there's nothing in this world that has the exact same value. And many, many
times you will just be left emptyhanded.

I dont believe on this law because... For example even you worked hard
on an exam and still failed that is not an equivalent exchange right?
For those who are gifted and dont even have to work hard and still
pass that is not an equivalent exchange either..

So how about you? what do you think about this law?..

its a positive concept to believe in, it establishes good qualities in people so it is definitely not bad to believe in a concept that says u r rewarded with the amount of effort u put in... However ur example is incorrect, u may hav spent alot of time on an exam and failed but that meens the quality of ur study was not enough, for example if u spent less time studying but worked harder u still could have passed... However there is one example thats highlighted in FMA that disproves the theory of equivalent exchange and that is wen a pregnant mother loses her child during child birth even tho she loved it and cared for it as much as any mother out there.... where is the pregnant mothers reward in this situation? also who is to say what is of equal value in this World? Does 1 life automatically equate to another? No because some people live rich fulfilled lives while others let life pass by. Its a lovely concept to believe in but wenever i think about these examples it reinforces the fact that equivalent exchange doesnt exist, however thats not to say i dont believe in Karma

Well, if you put faulty logic into an exam you get the equivelant of faulty answers back. I also believe in the skill-set theory. Oh and gifted means NOTHING! Those types probly have other issues you don't know about.

I do think that example is given in FMA about the Alchemist exam..

Edward passed the license exam in FMA even though there are more

people that worked hard than him... I do believe that there is equivalent exchange

but there are more variables to be considered on this concept... XD
