Left-Handed Individuals

I'm a lefty, but I can use the mouse (poorly) with my right hand, and I throw frisbees with my right hand. I throw everything else, write, paint, carve, and solder with my left hand.

I am right handed but I'm sure I'm gonna die before any lefty cause my health is bad....real bad, anyways why would being used to a different hand have any effect on your death, income, body, or w/e. I do remember something like left handed people use the right side of their brain and the rights are vice versa but I don't think thats right, unless it has something to do with that I don't know.
Posted 11/15/08
the disadvantages are that left handed people cant use some objects like chainsaws, which you mentioned
all the other objects which are ergonomically designed for just righthanders could bring lefthanders inconvenience

Do left-handers use fork and spoon in a different way? how about the steak knife? <--- lollerz (just kidding joke joke)

im left handed but i dont really think that just because I write with a different hand that i will die almost a decade earlier. BUT even if I did SO WHAT! We could get killed every moment of our life and im definitely aint going to live long enough to die out of old-age.

Even so my grandpa was left handed but his parent forced him to do everything with his right hand so now he can use his right hand better than his left one. And my parent did the same to me but it didn’t work as well as it did for my grandpa so now i can only write and eat with my right hand .

ps: I doubt i will ever nead a chainsaw XD

Im left handed, left footed. Yes i have problems being left handed. I tend to just use my right hand for a lot of things, just so its not difficult like using tools, the mouse etc. Oh and studies say that left handed people do die about 6 years eariler but they just say it because theres less left handed people, but its not 100% proved and plus you dont even know when you are going to die so it just doesnt make sense. OH YA LEFTYS Rule

PS alot of right footed people make then selfs Goofy on a skateboard WHAT LOSERS RIGHT!!!!!!

Lies! All lies! My 2 brothers and I are all left-handed. One of them talks to the whole world (everyone he sees). His phonebook consisted of more than 200 differen phone numbers! The other brother always perform random but amusing acts (he's not mental). Me? I always yell for no reason

To me, Left-Right doesn't affect death unless some jealous person kills the other.

I'm right-handed at:

Throwing/Tossing
Catching
Kicking
Punching
Mouse
Carrying things from bags

Kia ora, i write with my left hand and do nearly everything else with my right hand side because its the stronger side. I think this is due to my upbringing in New Zealand; everything is dominated and taught by the right-hand side (at school, in sports etc..), So my right side became more dominate and to this day its always been the stronger side, but doing some of these same things left side always felt (and still does feel) more natural.

So you could say i'm ambidextrious... however, i'm a left-hand writer and proud of it, i've been through all the ups and downs of being a left-hand writer and eventhough i was pressured to do everything Right i never gave up on writing Left. I would'nt change it for the world - it makes me feel unique!

My daughter is four now, she writes with her left and seems to do everything else with her left also. So i'm not going to force her to the right-hand side like i was, i'm gonna let her go with what comes naturally to her.

Sometimes she writes left-handed from Right to Left, for example writing her name backwards from the right to the left instead of left to right across the page. Anyone experience this or heard of it?

Dying 9years early.. etc - i dont think so - what i do think is: Left-handers are always special, gifted and unique in some way or another

But in some countries you can't write with left hand at school :/
My auntie got hit by her teacher in Vietnam because she was writing with her left hand.
It doesn't really affect my life ;o~
----I was looking on wiki--- :/
In 2006, researchers at Lafayette College and Johns Hopkins University in a study found that left-handed men are 15 percent richer than right-handed men for those who attended college, and 26 percent richer if they graduated. The wage difference is still unexplainable and does not appear to apply to women.

I wonder...and boo....

is it true??? too bad for the woman....lol

My left handed buddy is actually very intelligent and fairly sociable. He plays the piano and the saxophone and has gotten straight A's in school.

Don't let statistics determine everything as there are always exceptions to the rule. Heck, the only problem I had with my left handed buddy was when we had to take notes together in class; our elbows kept on bumping against one another.

Left-hand people are getting diceases faster. Like cancer.
Ofcourse the world 90% is right. Everyone is right-handed , the world is right-handed Intelligent people have proved that in there are less left-handed old people than right-handed people because they did die earlier. Left-handed people are alot shy and not sure.
By the way; almost all chainsaws in the world are right-handed... well another bad thing for left-handers.

This theory is easy to find on google - people of universitys have proved -- but I hope left-handed people don't die earlier (because 9 years is alot!!) --

Are you left? Or right?

left

Is it real that people who write with the left-hand die 9 years earlier?

i dont know and i dont know when im going to die so i cant subtract it.

If you are left-handed. How does it affect your life?

its quite obvious that people using the left hand have problems handling tools that is designed for the right hand.

Your opinion of Left-handed or Right-handed people?

nothin that i could prove in papers but in observation most people i know who is a lefty are good in arts (e.g. drawing or just plain being creative on stuff) while the ones using their right is good on mathematics, algebra, calculus, and other number stuff.

hmmmm, well, my Medical-Surgical Nursing by Brunner & Suddarth's 11th edition Volume 2 p. 2131 says something about the last paragraph..so i quote: "Right-handed people and some left-handed people have cerebral dominance on the left side of the brain for verbal, linguistic, arithmetical, calculating, and analytic functions. The nondominant hemisphere is responsible for geometric, spatial, visual, pattern and musical functions." soooo..since WE left-handed guys have cerebral dominance on the right brain, we really have those tendencies physiologically..nyahahah..but really doesn't mean we couldn't develop our nondominant hemisphere..^_____^..we should not limit ourselves because of this fact..

i'm just contented and happy i am left-handed..it's something only a few of us possess..yey!

now, about the to-die-9-years-earlier info..i don't think i should be bothered by it..observe a healthy lifestyle and just have enough sense to discern right from wrong regarding your heath..i think..i'll live on by..even a bit longer than usual..ahw..no worries..

and f.y.i...i wasn't forced by my mom to change from being left-handed to right..i'm the only one in the family who's left-handed!ahuhuhuh..1 out of 6..

PROUD TO BE LEFT-HANDED! hahah! everyone with me, raise your left-hand!

I'm ambidextrous.
But I use my right hand most of the time, and use my left hand when my right hand is tired.

I think that lefties dying 9 years earlier is a myth.
And lefties ahve a harder time with tools because righties dominate.
What should I think of them?
