true meaing of etoile

i think an etoile couple implies that they're lovers because:

- nagisa was really hurt when she was told by rokujou that shizuma approved of her and tamao's etoile candidacy. she was hurt because it was like shizuma was giving her away and that's why shizuma also told her to forget her. if it's just a school position, they wouldn't have to react to that extent.

- in the end, shizuma had to stop nagisa from being an etoile with tamao.. she can't accept it after all that nagisa will be tamao's partner (lover)

- the etoile ceremenoy was held in a church and the elected etoile couple exchanged necklaces (just like rings in a wedding ceremony)

- have you noticed that all the etoile were lovers? even the candidates?
kaori and shizuma, momomi and kaname, hikari and amane... it was only tamao and nagisa who weren't a couple; tamao was alright with it since she was in love with nagisa anyway ang nagisa was reluctant at first because she still loves shizuma but she eventually agreed when she decided she'll forget shizuma..

this is just my opinion though. (although a video comment inspired this thought) so what do you think?

I know that Tamao loved Nagisa very much,but that wasn't a true love.And Nagisa was already Shizuma's lover! =^.^=

Etoile means stars in french. I wonder if Nagisa would have ran off if Tamoe hadn't pulled out her ribbon and pushed her away. Shizuma already broke her off once. That's the way Shizuma roll.
