Sorry, it is impossible to have a society without cheating and lying. It will always exist as long as we have an inegalitarian society since inequality motivates people to cheat. Especially in a school environment where you're in competition with everyone else to achieve, if you aren't as good as someone else you might as well cheat to get good marks.

cheating and lying are pretty much the samething....in order to cheat you must lie...

That's really not true, you can cheat and never lie to anyone.

i was reffering to the title of the forum and how it relates to lying, if there was any confusion.

Yep...cheating is part of our society, we live and breathe in it...but don't want to hear about it.

I can respect, cause I know what you are trying to say. Having no cheating world is one of those impossible task. But I'm just saying, it would be a better world without it.

I agree with you life without cheating or lying is impossible. Though people should strive for it. Cheating for a test is stupid because in the long run you lose. Even if you have a high mark in a subject but dont know anything you learned.... problems will follow. Cheating is just an immediate sadisfaction and eventually can become addicting.
School is not a competition though many students feel that way, school is where you feed the hunger for education if you do not see that you will never exceed at anything.

THANK YOU Mcvf, school isn't a competition but I can name over 20 adults that say it is! Personally can't never cheat again, after my dad found out I did once when I was young. When it comes down to it I usually just take the E and try harder next time.

What you just described is the Functionalist's point of view. It's only one perspective therefore it is not totally true. You should look up Functionalist and Conflict Theory on wikipedia before you start claiming things.

Also not all Ceos are corupted, i mean yes basically society is based on cheating but, there are some good people, or else we would be in more trouble.

Actions speak louder than words, and in order to survive in a capitalistic economy as a business holder, you need to take "advantage" of every situation. So sure, they may be caring individuals, but that doesn't change the fact that they still exploit more people than they help.

That society existed since the beginning of time? Done
If you want to look up the official source on the 2 theories then be my guest, it will say basically the same thing. You don't go into a discussion with false statements, that's just suicide. I was trying to be nice when I said "totally true" but you're just asking for it. =_=

I don't think its a foundation of a society as many societies are build upon values and norms. I think its the individuals within the society that creates a negative environment in order to pursue worldly possessions and materials.

I think if you're going to start cheating on someone you care about, then don't bother to find a relationship. If you can't break the cycle then the only person that you're cheating on will be yourself at the end of the day. People look at this as low self-esteem and lack of self-security, I look at it as being greedy. Why would you want to hurt someone you care so much so badly?

Cheating academicly no matter how you justify it, its not justifiable. If you have the urge to cheat, then don't study..give other people who are willing to let themselves through a gruesome schedule the chance to shine. I sometimes feel very let down watching people doing this. Are you that desperate to prove that you're the best? So what was the point having your parents work hard to send you to school and only for you to cheat? The only person that you're letting down is yourself. Thats why STUDY is crucial.

Everybody lies. Modern society does not give you the permission to be 100% honest. The only person can stop you from lying chronically is yourself.

As for me, I've never cheated, been cheated on but I'm happily married to a great guy...theres always hope

Oh and what goes around, comes around...its karma
