Actually, most of the Jewish immigrants to Palestine were not Zionists. They were simply poor families traveling to a territory where living expenses like food and housing were cheap. All of the rich Jews traveled to the United Kingdom and to America. Chaim Weizmann, the first president of Israel, was actually one of Theodore Herzl’s main critics. Herzl, of course, founded the modern Zionist movement. The Jews were not stealing land, they were purchasing it.

At that time, however, the Jews already had a majority throughout Israeli territory and did not need to ethnically cleanse their nation in order for it to be Jewish. Moreover, in 1948 the Arab refugees were encouraged to leave Israel by Arab leaders promising to purge the land of Jews. Sixty eight percent left without ever seeing an Israeli soldier.

Most of the Arabs who later became refuges left not because the Jews forced them out but because they were called to leave by Muslim and Arab authorities.

This is common knowledge and basic historical fact. Even the intelligentsia of the Arab world acknowledges this simple fact.

The Arab states agree upon this policy unanimously and they must share in the solution of the problem.” -Emile Ghoury, secretary of Palestinian Arab Higher Committee, in an interview with the Beirut Telegraph Sept. 6, 1948.

“The Arab state which had encouraged the Palestine Arabs to leave their homes temporarily in order to be out of the way of the Arab invasion armies, have failed to keep their promise to help these refugees."– The Jordanian daily newspaper Falastin, Feb. 19, 1949.

"Who brought the Palestinians to Lebanon as refugees, suffering now from the malign attitude of newspapers and communal leaders, who have neither honor nor conscience? Who brought them over in dire straits and penniless, after they lost their honor? The Arab states, and Lebanon amongst them, did it."– The Beirut Muslim weekly Kul-Shay, Aug. 19, 1951.


The ethnic cleansing was wrong. Israel was wrong, but this was inexorable. You get a nation with a population dominantly consisting of holocaust survivors and then try to eradicate them and fail and you’re going to see some backlash. The Arabs brought that tragedy upon themselves.

Many Palestinians were unnecessarily killed or forced out of their homes and land by Zionists in an ethnic cleansing. This ethnic cleansing was done for the sole purpose of getting rid of the Arab majority, so it could be a proper Jewish state. I don't think you can put blame for that on the Arabs somehow, obviously a war was going to start when Zionists started to take over. It wasn't just the Jews being there, they were openly accepted during WW2, the problem started when they began to take over.

This was an area in which one million Palestinians lived next to 600,000 Jews.

The idea was to uproot as many Palestinians as possible. From March 1948 until the end of that year the plan was implemented.. Some 750,000 Palestinians were expelled, 531 villages were destroyed and 11 urban neighborhoods demolished. Half of Palestine's population was uprooted and half of its villages destroyed. The state of Israel was established in over 80 percent of Palestine, turning Palestinian villages into Jewish settlements and recreation parks, but allowing a small number of Palestinian to remain citizens in it.

Ilan Pappé is another great Jewish scholar that you should look into. Unless he's anti-Semitic too.

So you are saying that in 1948, there was piece of land which belonged to no - one, on map there was "here be dragons" or something, and there were only few nameless wandering tribes there? And then jews came and said: oooh, nice piece of land, we will take it, OK? because we lived here thousands of years ago so it is our right to live here. In addition, the Zionists were only a very, very small minority among the Jews and their leaders. In fact, Chaim Weizmann the first president of Israel was one of Theodore Herzl’s (who founded modern Zionism,) main critics describing him as powerful but naïve.

I know that many Palestinians suffered from the ethnic cleansing that resulted from the 1948 war for independence initiated by the Arab’s world’s attempted genocide of the Jews and disregard for international rulings.

I do not, however, see any historical evidence of your claims whatsoever. The closest item I can see to even suggesting such a Zionist conspiracy would be Plan D., but even that cannot be made to draw this conclusion without ignoring context and contrary evidence.

I’ve already looked into him. Pappe was actually forced to resign from his position at Haifa University because of his academic integrity. His book arguing for this supposed planning of the ethnic cleansing is a clear demonstration of his manipulation and omission of information as well as the ignoring of context. I think it is so strange that people think that just because somebody has Jewish heritage they cannot be biased against the Jewish people or the Israeli state.

Really? Some people think there could never be a black white supremacist, is that surprising too? The only time I've seen that was on Dave Chappelle. And Hitler wasn't Jewish, it turns out that's just a myth. I still find it ridiculous that so many Jews get antisemitism accusations, it's just stupid. And just for criticizing Israel? People who only talk politics and don't even mention anything about race or religion get antisemitism attacks, it's like a scapegoat everyone uses.

There are plenty of blacks who’re racist against blacks. A recent study involving virtual simulation showed that police officers are more likely to open fire on an African America suspect than a white suspect even under the same circumstances. Essentially, it was a virtual reality shooter. Police would be presented with a sort of video game. Individuals of every different race would jump around corners with one of two items in their hand. Either the suspect would have a gun or a cell phone. The suspects were of every different race. The cops were challenged to get their score as high as possible within a time limit. They lost points for shooting cell-phone carrying suspects while they gained points for taking down armed suspects.

What they did not know is that it was actually a study to see which race they were more likely to accidently shoot on instinct. Nobody was really surprised when they discovered that white police are most likely to shoot unarmed blacks. We were shocked when it turned out that the results were exactly the same for police of every ethnicity. Even the black cops were more likely profile black suspects than any other race.

So you can be racist against your own race. Many Jews are very racist against the Israelite people. For one thing, most do not identify with the Jewish people but rather their respective nationalities. An African American, for example, is much more likely to identify himself as an American than an African. The same is true of Jews from across the world.

Saying that Israelis cannot be biased against the Israeli people is actually quite idiotic. All the time you hear Americans criticizing Americans. I myself created a thread accusing Americans of being spoiled and not realizing how good they got it. That’s actually a prejudice view against my own people, but I strongly stick to it. Naturally I make room for exceptions, on rare occasion, but as a whole I am in this way biased against America.

Look at the quote I posted. The man who said that was a Jew, and yet he admitted to abhorring Jews and said they had the attributes of slaves. That’s not racist against Jews, simply because he’s Jewish? That’s stupid. If you excluding yourself from the group like Pappe and Norman then it’s perfectly easy to be prejudiced against your own ethnicity. Especially for people like Norman, who’re Jewish but not Israelite and therefore do not identify themselves by the racial background but rather their nationality.

Well there's a difference between hating your own race and subconsciously shooting more of them in a video game. Being against Israel would be like being biased against the US, that's not racism. The same goes for Americans, that's not racism. That quote from that Jew is very hard to believe and it goes alot further than just prejudice or bias when someone hates an entire race. Pappe and Norman are not prejudice against their own race or ethnicity, they are political scholars.

Well, of course the quote’s hard for you to believe. It doesn’t support what you WANT to believe, so I must be lying. I gave you a source, and if that’s not enough you can also pick up a copy of Colin Shindler’s “A History of Modern Israel.”

As far as Norman Finkelstein and Pappe being political scholars, I have to disagree. Norman is entirely racist. Pappe is simply biased against Israel as a nation. There are honest scholars out there, even honest scholars who think that the ethnic cleansing was planned by Zionist leaders. This being said neither one of the individuals mentioned in this post are reliable sources for information. Both omit and manipulate information to give a warped image of what went down rather than pursuing the ultimate truth. They’re pressing political agendas of their own, and that people don’t see that is entirely laughable. That you don’t see that Norman Finkelstein is a racist is also amusing. That you seem to think it’s impossible for somebody to be racially prejudiced against their own race is...not surprising. Because, then you'd have to admit the possibility that you may be wrong and Norman may not be the messiah.
