Israel Should exist, why do people hate on one of the world's greatest countries? The Palestinian "oppression" is far worse then people want to make it. Hamas is a result of Islamic Extremism and racism against Jews, they are not freedom fighters or soldiers. They are terrorists and should be treated as such. Israel has every right to exist.

Does the Bible say people need to support Israel?

No, in fact Jesus rebuked Israel several times for how they treated the prophets and for turning God's Law into rituals and rules. However, the Bible does prophecy about Israel in the end times. It says it will be a nation and there will be a great war waged against it. The Bible even states what nations will war against them. Israel will win the war, and it also says that the Temple will be rebuilt where it stood before the Roman Empire destroyed it.

I've heard Christians say the Bible says they should support Israel, there's this organization called "Christians United for Israel"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mjMRgT5o-Ig

You need to have a "connection" with Israel to enjoy the second coming apparently. So it seems like supporting Israel is required in Christianity for many people.

This explains ALOT, I don't know why no one ever told me about this earlier.

Very few Christians believe that, and one group doesn't mean most do. You can't judge an entire group of people by one small group that disagrees with the majority. That's like saying all Muslims are terrorists because a minority are. Here is what most (or many) Christians believe regarding Israel and is in the Bible.

Abraham was a man faithful to God when the people and nations on earth were very far from the Lord. God promised Abraham in his old age, that him and his wife Sarah would have a child, and that the child would grow and become a great nation and that many nations would come from his descendants. Abraham had two children, Isaac and Ishmael. After God promised Abraham a son through Sarah who would become the father of a blessed nation (Israel), Sarah told Abraham to sleep with her maidservant Hagar and have a child through her. Sarah did not believe in God's Promise, and both Abraham and Sarah sinned by the actions they took. Hagar gave birth to Ishmael, who was not the son that God had Promised (that promise was to be with the son that will come from Abraham and Sarah), nonetheless, even though Ishmael was not to bring about the blessed nation (Israel, the people whom God has made His Covenant), He still promised that Ishmael would by the father of kinds and be made into many nations.
Gen 17:18 And Abraham said to God, "If only Ishmael might live under your blessing!"
Gen 17:19 Then God said, "Yes, but your wife Sarah will bear you a son, and you will call him Isaac. I will establish my covenant with him as an everlasting covenant for his descendants after him.
Gen 17:20 And as for Ishmael, I have heard you: I will surely bless him; I will make him fruitful and will greatly increase his numbers. He will be the father of twelve rulers, and I will make him into a great nation.
Gen 17:21 But my covenant I will establish with Isaac, whom Sarah will bear to you by this time next year."

Before any of this happened, Abraham was living in the land of Ur, God had called him to leave that land and live as a foreigner in Canaan (where modern day and ancient Israel is). God said in that land He would make a blessed nation. That can be found here
Gen 12:1 The Lord had said to Abram, "Leave your country, your people and your father's household and go to the land I will show you.
Gen 12:2 "I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.
Gen 12:3 I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you."

God was talking about blessing the world through Jesus, who was and is the Promised Messiah and is a descendant of Abraham. Therefore through Israel all nations have been blessed. Israel was the nation that God made His Covenant with, that is, the way to be forgiven of sins. This came through the Laws He gave to Adam (sacrifice and repentance) and later confirmed to Abraham (through the same laws and then the addition of circumcision, which was to show that those who have been circumcised have a covenant with God). Later, God reminded the descendants of Abraham (who were slaves in Egypt and called Hebrews) that they were His people under the promise God had given to Abraham. God gave the Law to Moses, and from then that Law was the covenant between Israel and God. All this can be found in the Old Testament (especially the first 5 books, the Pentateuch). I can't sum up the entire Old Testament in one post, so if you have questions PM me. Anyway, Christians view ancient Israel as God's Covenant people, His chosen people because of God's Promise to Abraham. Through Israel (Abraham's descendants) God brought the Messiah (Jesus) who fulfilled the Old Covenant and atoned for all sin and even now still intercedes for us. The Bible says that the Old Covenant has been fulfilled, and that all those who put their faith in Christ are ingrafted into Israel (God's chosen people). For Christians, Israel is the body of Christ (metaphorically), not a nation or a country. The current nation of Israel holds prophetic value, in that during the end times there will be wars with Israel and that Israel will win these wars. That the Temple of God will be rebuilt in Jerusalem on the Temple mount (where the Al Aqsa Mosque now stands). There are even instructions for how it is to be built in the book of Ezekiel. For most Christians, Israel is not the same nation depicted in the Bible, and the current Israel will serve it's purpose in the end times. For clarity, many times I say the word "Israel" in my post, I am not talking about the modern day nation. Anyhoo, sorry for the long post, but this is (generally) what I believe (and many Christians do as well) about Israel.

I didn't say all Christians must believe that, but it seems like the same extremist evangelical group that brainwashes kids at Jesus Camp are the ones in that video. And if you watched the documentary, Ted Haggard (hypocrite of the century), says that they are such a huge group that they decide alot of the elections. I don't know exactly how big the group is, but it's huge. So a huge chunk of the population thinks supporting Israel and everything it does is required by Christianity, and in the vid, they had big politicians there. So this must be why Israel is such a huge issue.

I know you didn't say all Christians believed that, I was just pointing out that not even most do. And there are good Christian camps and then there are Political "Jesus camps" where they brainwash kids in "Jesus Name." Sometimes for good intentions but they are vastly confused and do it in a way that isn't Christ-like. They say they are a large group, but in reality they are very very small. I have never even personally heard of one of those brainwashing political Jesus camps and my state is fairly Christian. They can't fix elections and they certainly don't have a hold over who wins. If this was true Obama wouldn't be president and the Democrat party wouldn't have complete political monopoly in every federal branch of the US Government. They make Israel a big issue because they mainly just don't like the Arab-Muslim nations who oppose Israel. Hate is wrong, and these people commit that sin through their actions. It isn't so much a support for Israel as much as it is a hate for the Arab world. I'm not an expert on this subject but thats what I conclude from it all.

No, in fact Jesus rebuked Israel several times for how they treated the prophets and for turning God's Law into rituals and rules. However, the Bible does prophecy about Israel in the end times. It says it will be a nation and there will be a great war waged against it. The Bible even states what nations will war against them. if so, Jesus wouldn't support Israel, if he walks amongst us today , right?
since Israel's actions are no different than before, like what in Micha 3 for example,

1 Then I said,
"Listen, you leaders of Jacob,
you rulers of the house of Israel.
Should you not know justice,

2 you who hate good and love evil;
who tear the skin from my people
and the flesh from their bones;

3 who eat my people's flesh,
strip off their skin
and break their bones in pieces;
who chop them up like meat for the pan,
like flesh for the pot?"

4 Then they will cry out to the LORD,
but he will not answer them.
At that time he will hide his face from them
because of the evil they have done.

5 This is what the LORD says:
"As for the prophets
who lead my people astray,
if one feeds them,
they proclaim 'peace';
if he does not,
they prepare to wage war against him.

6 Therefore night will come over you, without visions,
and darkness, without divination.
The sun will set for the prophets,
and the day will go dark for them.

7 The seers will be ashamed
and the diviners disgraced.
They will all cover their faces
because there is no answer from God."

8 But as for me, I am filled with power,
with the Spirit of the LORD,
and with justice and might,
to declare to Jacob his transgression,
to Israel his sin.

9 Hear this, you leaders of the house of Jacob,
you rulers of the house of Israel,
who despise justice
and distort all that is right;

10 who build Zion with bloodshed,
and Jerusalem with wickedness.

11 Her leaders judge for a bribe,
her priests teach for a price,
and her prophets tell fortunes for money.
Yet they lean upon the LORD and say,
"Is not the LORD among us?
No disaster will come upon us."

12 Therefore because of you,
Zion will be plowed like a field,
Jerusalem will become a heap of rubble,
the temple hill a mound overgrown with thickets.

You are correct, Jesus would not support Israel if they were committing sin, I am not saying they are innocent, but I think the major problems lie with the Palestinians and not the Israeli government. I want justice to be done to and peace be brought to the Palestinian people and the Israelis.

Ok, here's the stats: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6rSjrBhUIA

Right after this^ he gets interviewed and he says if his entire group votes, they would decide the election. By that I think he meant give someone the boost they may need to win, if it's close.

The Jesus Camp movie wasn't just about the brainwashing at the camp, it was about the brainwashing in general. In the beginning it shows what the kids lives are like at home, what their parents who home school them tell them. In the end the kids are gonna turn out the way Ted Haggard wanted them to turn out (well, not anymore), and he was George Bush's adviser.

And I don't think they are so interested in Israel because the Arab countries are against it lol, most of the Arab countries are under US control anyways, they could pose no real threat. And there's alot of hate in other parts of the world, and for some reason they just decided to focus on the hate against Israel? There's a genocide happening in Darfur, but Israel is a much bigger problem for people in the US? I think they love Israel so much and it's such a huge issue in the US for religious reasons, and maybe the US political ties with it.

Israel will win the war, and it also says that the Temple will be rebuilt where it stood before the Roman Empire destroyed it.

if so, Jesus wouldn't support Israel, if he walks amongst us today , right?
since Israel's actions are no different than before, like what in Micha 3 for example,

1 Then I said,
"Listen, you leaders of Jacob,
you rulers of the house of Israel.
Should you not know justice,

2 you who hate good and love evil;
who tear the skin from my people
and the flesh from their bones;

3 who eat my people's flesh,
strip off their skin
and break their bones in pieces;
who chop them up like meat for the pan,
like flesh for the pot?"

4 Then they will cry out to the LORD,
but he will not answer them.
At that time he will hide his face from them
because of the evil they have done.

5 This is what the LORD says:
"As for the prophets
who lead my people astray,
if one feeds them,
they proclaim 'peace';
if he does not,
they prepare to wage war against him.

6 Therefore night will come over you, without visions,
and darkness, without divination.
The sun will set for the prophets,
and the day will go dark for them.

7 The seers will be ashamed
and the diviners disgraced.
They will all cover their faces
because there is no answer from God."

8 But as for me, I am filled with power,
with the Spirit of the LORD,
and with justice and might,
to declare to Jacob his transgression,
to Israel his sin.

9 Hear this, you leaders of the house of Jacob,
you rulers of the house of Israel,
who despise justice
and distort all that is right;

Perhaps, Christians should do too.

most do when we see Israel doing wrong. But we also recognize the wrong the Palestinians do. I am not supporting Israel's occupation of the West Bank or how they conducted their military operation in Gaza a while ago. If Israel does wrong then they do wrong and they shouldn't get away with it. However, those who want peace with Israel (the Palestinians) claim that they don't even have a right to exist. That there must be a Jewish genocide and the land become a Shariah governed cleric state with Jerusalem as the capitol (this is all even in the Hamas charter). Plus, many of the nations around Israel condemn them simply because they hate them. Ahmedinejad calls them stinking dogs and promises to launch an nuclear weapon into Israel killing millions. I don't hole heartedly side with Israel, but I support them more on most issues then I do with Hamas. The think the biggest act of oppression is what the Palestinian government does to their own people.
