i supported obama mainly because he was different from all the other presidents we had. hes young, black, and really knows how to get the excitement of change going in his speeches. i dont believe that he can immediately bring change to america. nobody in the world could do that. eventually change will come over the years. you just gotta be patient :}

He's not that young, he is black, and he can speak well, doesn't mean he can make a good president. You didn't support him due to his views obviously and neither did most, most likely. Most voted for him because he's black, that's my guess.

People think he's a fucking prophet, its retarded, dude's a fucking human being not a god, like everyone thinks. I give it a year tops before the idiots come to there senses and realize the dudes human. People were brainwashed by his fancy words. sure he can speak well, but that doesn't mean the dude's a god.

okay the "dude" is not a god. i support him but this is the first time i ever heard anyone say people think hes a prophet. people are looking up to him because they believe and hope that maybe finally the corrupted economy would be saved and changed for the better. if you havent noticed businesses are going down. money is becoming more valuable because people have lost so much of it. the whole working world is slowing down on the cash. all these people are looking forward to the change that obama might bring. i dont know about you but having millions of people depend on you to represent the country is some pressure right there. and i respect him for stepping up and wanting to represent anyway.

You can't save the economy overnight, it's going to get solved anyway. Obama might bring change, then again he might not. He might not do anything at all. the dude has promised a lot of stuff, stuff that might not and probally won't happen. Anyone can pull a promise out of there ass, but not anyone can fulfill them. and anyone can make a fancy speech, if someone writes it for them. So im not impressed with obama whatsoever. unless he proves to me that he has what it takes to actually do what he said. i think he's an utter idiot for deciding to become president.

so? the world is now on his shoulders and he could be our saviour or the doom of the world. what do YOU think?

Our presidents do not realy have the power to save or doom the world nor do I believe that the world is on their shoulders. I voted for him but not because I really expected instant, dramatic changes, but because I thought he would do the least amount of harm. There are after all three branches to our government....I think we have reached a point in America that our judges are the ones with the most power and they are also the ones very few people take the time to learn a lot about. Obama is pretty young as far as presidents go and so he has a lot of optimism which is appealing...but in reality change is a hard won thing in the USA.

well then who do YOU suggest to become president.
if you dont like obama there must be someone you consider to be a good representative.
yeah obama has promised alot of shit and like you said probably more than half of them arent happening. but then again, so have alot of our presidents. our whole economoy fucked up as soon as bush became our president and 911 happened. america chose bush to be our president for two more terms so he could finish what he had started but our whole economy was already going downhill from there.
america chose obama looking for change and someone who could help bring the economy back up from their knees.
if you dont want obama who do you want?

And yet, people believed in president Bush two times...

Big change compared to Bush, fix the economy by giving the money back to those who need it the most. Take out a lot of the gunk that is clogging your democracy Create a better image of America around the world. But I do think assassination is a real possibility with this president due to the fact he is African American and if he really does bring major change that could trigger an assassination attempt aswell.

sad thing is, i bet most if not all of you cant actually name his policies and how hes going to fix them. Thing is, Obama supporters along with McCain Supporters dont even actually know what they planned to do. If i asked you? Oh you liked Obama's policies or his plan to Fix the economy... what was that plan? No one would be able to answer. The reason why is due the fact that Obama never really told anyone what exactly he will do, but everyone pretends like he did and they know. Same goes with McCain. Its silly if you ask me. Fact is, no one knows jack about what Obamas plans or strategy is, all we know is a vague idea of his parties political agenda.

You can never rely on a politician running for president to do what they say they will do, or make you believe will be the end result, because once they are president, they dont have to do anything of the sort. Its all in telling you what you want to hear in order to get the vote with out actually answering jack shiet.

Its ironic.

Glad that someone gets it. Obama won because people hate Bush - and he was the media's golden child.

To me, Obama pulled the wool over the voters eyes. What does Obama suggest to solve the economic mess - spend more money. HELLO - that is what got us in trouble in the first place - spending money on stuff you can't afford. As of right now, the states owes 10 trillion dollars - and the GDP is only 13 trillion (and 70% of that is based on consumer spending, which is going to get lower and lower) so you can say the states is in some serious trouble.

As of right now, the states needs to borrow 2 trillion dollars for next years budget - guess they are going to have to go to China and ask for some more money (China holds hundreds of billions of US treasuries)

Getting off topic, what I am trying to say is Obama is going to be bad for the country. (same goes for McCain - he doesn't have a clue either - both these idiots voted for the bailouts)

By the way to the kids in the states, you should really read up on his policy of public service. He is going to want you to spend time doing community service, and spend time at training camps (re-education camps)

^ I agree with a lot of your points. I think Barack isn't going to help much and is only going to cause harm. He wants to tax us during a financial crisis, he wants us to spend more money on programs that are proven not to work efficiently (government health care and whatnot) he wants to censor conservatives with the fairness doctrine. He wants to push the abortion agenda to the extreem (as in the government funding abortion and removing all bans on all practices, removing parental notification of minors, and removing laws that force doctors to explain the risks and aftermath of having an abortion) Barack is very opinionated, but isn't very educated on how to fix things. He screams for change, yet he appoints a bunch of the same people (Clintonites) Barack won because of Bush hate (yet the liberal Democrat majority senate has a 17% approval rating) and because he was a good orator. McCain was a closet liberal and was to scared to take a position on anything (he flip flopped a lot) most of the Republicans are scared of being criticized by the media so they become moderates. Moderates don't win votes, and the middle ground they hold only hurts them because they compromise what will work to fit into others ideologies. America is in for a bumpy four years in my opinion. I respect Obama and I am praying for him (and our nation). However, I respectfully disagree with him on pretty much everything and I did not cast my vote for him.

I just hope he doesn't fuck up But only time will tell, until then he has all my support.
