Maybe school should last longer so people will have less time to post retarded threads in the wrong section.

'Did you know America, out of all other world powers out there, America has the lowest education. Hell Americas education is lower than a few 3rd world countries.'

'Whats this mean? Maby America needs to drop the bibles and think for once, learn to read real books!
Why do I say that, The most educated countries in the world at this time, are mostly atheist. Thats right.
On top of that There crime rate is 8 times less than America, and there teen pregnancy rate is 10 times less than America. ' (so what Morality are you learning about in them Bibles hmmm?) '

wow its YOU again. Why don't you do a little bit of research before posting. America HAS NO NATIONAL RELIGION. Countries ilke England have the national church of England or the Anglican church as their main religion and they're doing fine. And btw America was founded on Puritan values (in case your ignorant ass doesn't know puritans are a form of protestants which of course even you should at least know are a form of christians) which is why Americans are the hardest working society in the world. (of course there are a few exceptions for a couple of lazy asses out there) the puritans were based on values such as "Idle hands are the devil's tools " which meant that they kept themselves busy so they won't have any leisure time to sin

All other countries take more vacations than the Americans. Americans usually put work first in their priorities because of this. (I heard in Mexico you can be excused from coming late to an appointment if you wanted to talk to your grandmother)

And btw even though America was founded on Puritan guidelines, only VERY FEW people are Christians. Most of them just SAY they are christians even though they haven't gone to church in YEARS. but they still kept to some of the puritan guidelines. Funny how the basis of a country can influence people hundreds of years later

The "most educated countries" are mostly atheist, have crime rates 8 times less than that of the United States, and have pregnancy rates 10 times less than that of America? Care to provide some sources for that? While you're at it, something to show a direct causal relationship between religious belief and these behaviors. Good luck.

Unfortunately, your response is no better than that to which you were responding...

1.) Whether the United States has a national religion or not does not mean there is no majority religion.

2.) Even if Americans were the hardest working people of the world (I challenge you to prove this), I question whether it has anything to do with the Puritan values of those who first came here. Besides, why is being the "hardest-working" a good thing?

3.) Whether other people conform to your definition of "Christian" or not does not necessarily mean they aren't. What's important is that people feel some sort of connection to the religion (probably involving a belief in an intelligent, benevolent Creator; an afterlife; and a code of conduct that governs at least actions that harm other people), else they wouldn't report they're Christian in the first place.

Neither of you responded to the original post, however.

Food for thought: I heard that New Hampshire, or some school there, is attempting to push kids to graduate upon completion of 10th grade instead of 12th. It's probably to save money and, unfortunately, get people to start working earlier in their lives.

Why go to school for 200+ days a year? To establish structure early in life, to keep people out of trouble, to allow little time for information taught to be lost, to expose people to as much information as possible, to help people get ready for the working world, etc. The fact that we're sent off to be socialized by the public system so early in life, often required to get college degrees to have the jobs we desire, and must work for the rest of our lives to pay off the debt of college, survive, and pay for the same to happen to our own kids troubles me, but I suppose there's little to be done about it.

1. Unfortunately the majority aren't christians.

2.Well sorry but I can't prove it to you that Americans are the hardest working people because I just remember a class discussion when we were studying the puritans and one of the topics were the puritan values we have today. I mean idk about you but I'd trust an Ap History teacher who graduated from Berkely

3. Again I can't prove this to you but I remember having a class discussion in English class about this topic and the reason why America is thought of as mostly Christian is because when people were signing up for things and they had to bubble in their religion, there were no "athiest" bubble so they just bubbled in Christian. Just an interesting fact the sub had for the class

Sorry i can't prove it to you and I don't blame you for not believing me but I'm still going to stand by my point

90 percent of Americans call themselves "Christians" and 80 percent claim some link to a specific church.
Thus, do I dares to speak the words "Christian America."

Britain is formally a religious country
Exactly half of white men say that they have no religion (in the BSA 2004), versus 41 percent of white women. To put it another way, men make up 58 percent of the secular category as defined above using European Social Survey data, but only 36 percent of the religious groups.

published on religions in Japan
non-believers in the majority (63%), followed by Buddhists (26%), Shintoists (2%) and Christians (1%).

America:
Statistics released today by the FBI show that the estimated volume of violent crime in 2007, The estimated rate of violent crime was 466.9 occurrences per 100,000 inhabitants and the estimated rate of property crime was 3,263.5 per 100,000 inhabitants

In fact, the murder rate in the US is 6 times that of Britain and 5 times that of Australia. Neither country has the DP. Texas has twice the murder rate of Wisconsin, a state that doesn't have the DP.

Japan has a murder and crime rate of 2.1 per 100,000 inhabitants. Thats more than 220 times the estimated rate of Violent crimes in america alone.
