i think in the manga shou was a lot meaner than in the anime...in the beginning of the manga shou was just a plain jerk but in the anime he seem to be more funnier and childish

i must say "well said" you have given in a real in dept thought of the shou and kyoko relationship. I totally agree BUT i really believe that by not defeating shou kyoko is not letting her self experiencing the real love. Becaue she keep on clinging to the past and still believe that she was in love with shou. I do agree with you that the love kyouko has for sho is to gain self worth. but by defeating him she will not gain anything i just hope that she will see it before she loses everything.

Oh, thank you. I think you misunderstood what I was saying in the last part, though. I'm saying that she needs to be able to let go of the past without defeating Sho. Right now, she's still somewhat dependent upon him saying that she's beaten him to feel like she's won. That means he still has some power over her feelings of self-worth. She still considers him above her in some way. If she became really self-confident, she wouldn't care what he thought, or at least he wouldn't have the power to make Kyouko feel like she'd lost. That's all.

Hakajin you do have a good point there. I think my perspective of Shou is not that bad due to the fact that he does care for the Kyoko that changed and not the Kyoko that used to think of him as the only person that she only needs in the world. =)

I agree with most of this.

There was another thread about whether we hate Sho... this was my response:

Not at all. You know, I don't think Sho really took Kyouko along to Tokyo just so she could be his maid. I mean, he was around a lot more in the beginning; the problems didn't start until he got popular. And from the flashbacks, it seems like he got along pretty well with Kyouko in the beginning, too. I think he took her along mostly for emotional support. He didn't want to be alone in a strange city. Also, you notice that Sho gets his manager to take care of him when she comes into the picture. He's affectionate toward her, but he also depends on her a lot. So it's like he didn't need Kyouko as much anymore.

It was wrong for Sho to treat Kyouko like that, but... he couldn't really love her. She devoted her life to serving him, and they weren't equals. Kyouko didn't have any interests of her own, and she never stood up for herself. He couldn't respect her because she didn't respect herself. Sho couldn't relate to Kyouko because she put herself below him; she wasn't on his level. Basically, Sho treated Kyouko like a maid because that was the role she assumed herself. That's why it's easy to believe that he actually does love her later, because she's become a much stronger person. She has an attractive personality at that point. You know, I think that Sho maybe didn't intend to really dump Kyouko like that. I think he was tired of her behavior and stopped coming around for that reason, and then he talked about her immaturely. But I think he always cared about her more than he let on, even if he doesn't know it. He didn't mind using her, but he always worried about her when she was upset over something like her mother.

And you know, Kyouko used Sho, too, in her own way. It wasn't mean like what Sho did, but... She basically put him in the role of her prince so she could live out her Cinderella fantasy. Kyouko had always been scorned by people like her mother, so she felt like the only way people would care about her was if she was useful to them. That's where she found her self-worth, and that's what she staked her happiness on. So waiting on Sho made Kyouko feel good about herself, and she was also depending on that to make her happy. She was dependent upon him for her self-worth and her happiness. That's a lot of pressure to put on another person. It's like she was trying to make him love her, and that's bad. No one wants to feel obligated to someone else. Also, Kyouko didn't really treat Sho like a real person. She ignored his flaws and preferred to see him as her "prince" than as who he really was. That's almost like saying that the real Sho wasn't good enough, he had to be an ideal for Kyouko.

I'm not really sure whether Kyouko really ever loved Sho in the first place. I think she cared about him as a friend, but she didn't get depressed when she found out the truth. I mean, I wouldn't expect her to mope around all the time, but it seems like she would have been at least a little sad. But the only thing she got sad about how she had wasted her life waiting on Sho. I think that Kyouko probably thought she was in love with Sho, but she was really in love with living out her fairy-tale life. Subconsciously, of course. I feel like it could've been someone else for her.

Anyway, I couldn't hate Sho. He's just too adorable. It's so cute how he's so childish. It's so funny when he acts like a little kid to his manager, or thinks about how wonderful he is, or loses his temper. I think Sho, more than being mean, was just immature. He was selfish with Kyouko the way a spoiled kid would've been. He's started to grow up a little now and take more responsibility, and that's really sweet, too. That scene where he took Kyouko that scar cream was just adorable. I think I really prefer Kyouko with Ren, but I like her with Sho, too. I love love/hate relationships, and their arguments are just adorable. You can tell how close they are. But I think Nakamura plans it so we don't ever like Sho/Kyouko too much. I noticed that instead of saying that he cares about Kyouko in vol. 15, he says she's still "his." I don't like his possessiveness. I think that's his childishness again, but it's still selfish. I do wish Kyouko would get over her hatred, though. As long as she's after revenge, she's still letting Sho determine her worth. She can only feel satisfied when he admits that she's won. I hope she realizes that eventually.

Except for some parts I agree. I would like to see Sho and Kyouko together again, they're really adorable together. Though I already know shes going to end up with Ren theres somthing not quite right with Ren there seems to be somthing in his past that hasn't come out yet. I can't wait tell it gets further into manga! Fuwa Shou<3 I really like his character even though hes made to be the bad guy. When it comes to certain things no one knows Shou better then Kyouko and no one knows Kyouko better then Sho I'm hoping for a ShouXKyouko

I really hated him at first >__<'' But throughout the manga, his character changes, and thus I don't think he's as much as a scumbag anymore. He realises that he should treasure Kyoko more, and not take her for granted, right? And the Angel vs Demon PV was romantic <33 and I think it's really great of him to rescue Kyoko from "Beagel". X3 But for the most part, love triangles are great. Ren must have a rival one way or another right? :3

First of all, Hakajin: smartest post thus far. Congrats.

And second, yeah, I hate to admit that I'm slightly pro-ShoxKyoko too, basically because (as much as we hate it) they really are the perfect couple... rivalry aside, they are each other's support without fail. (ie. Sho picking himself up post-"Beagle" crisis, and Kyoko enduring so many years of bullying.) Buuuut, well, c'mon, it's Kyoko, dude... How's she not gonna pick Ren/Corn (a.k.a. "fairy prince") over Sho? Court rules in favor of Fantasy Land yet again. :/
