the scene where the teacher was hitting the guys with a stick hmmm that looked "ouch" painful ne? but im pretty sure this is practiced in their country right? no wonder i've seen so many korean-exchange students over here... well, its the other way around here, students pop their teacher if they want to. they can get away with it too if the family of the student is influential.

im not saying its bad to discipline them with a stick like that, its just looked painful ne? haha good think im no longer in school. but i have to deal with bosses in work it is harsh, but effective i guess.

overall i really really like this movie!its light hearted with a lil bit of everything!i'll recommend this to my pals. its a great chich flick!

In the philippines teachers usually just make the student squat under the heat of the sun (some people faint of this ) or sometimes they just let them clean the WC's (which are totally disguting). This usually just happen in public schools, cuz theachers in private schools are too scared of the parents of the rich kids. But I went to one private school where teachers would punish students, It was so not fair.

One time a teacher cut off the hair of my brother because he thought it was too long. The next day the teacher and the other faculty had to deal with my father. he was pissed as hell. No teacher dared to touch my brother's hair again. The next school year we transferred to a new more expensive school. Nothing went wrong there. It just proves that in order to get better teachers, you need more money.

I love the philippines, don't get me wrong. But I just think the people there are too greedy. Almost everyone will do anything for money. I usually got away from all the teachers punishments cuz I have foreign blood. This happens alot in the philippines. I find it offensive. they let other people go, but they let their own people suffer.

So I find it better here in europe. Teachers don't even dare to touch the students. Because teenagers here know their rights, and they're not afraid of anyone.

i fully support asian discipline!
here in america its annoys me with those stuckup idiots thinking they are better than everyone

i moved to canada at the age of 6...and only attended school in the philippines for a few years
but even at kindergarten i had that kind of discipline as i was slapped with a ruler into writing with my right hand rather than my left

yeaaa..

Asian decipline is soo much harsher than any other..i'm an asian myself..
but i'm n innocent kid so i only got the stick about 1 or 2 times but it hurtss soo muchh..
we used to get punished if we had long nails, didn't tie our hair(girls), didn't do our homework, didn't polish our shoes and blabla..
and the punishments included smacking with canes/sticks, slaps, hits with steel ruler, kneeling bare knees in gravels.. so harsh..:P

but this is all normal..:P
not trying to be offensive but european or americans may have harder life if they got to asian skools and asians will have sooo much freedom in european and american skools..^^

"Asian" methods of discipline is a little harsh and extreme but i think its part of the culture.

i mean in schools, students to get hit and punished but there are other punishments too.

in schools i guess its getting hit on your palms with a ruler to extreme cases, in which the teacher is going way too overboard then.

i'm not too sure how to explain it...

It's not only Korea, in other schools I've been too thats not in the US teachers hit the students. And I've had the luxury of being the "student". Really does hurt

discipline in countries varies...but its not a bad thing, not too much or too less ne? kids are abusive these days, they always try their authority on grown ups...behind all these rules and regulations, teachers are still adults much older than us, so just give them respect even if u know ur rights.

but if the teachers are the ones unreasonably abusive of their authority, then fell free to pop him on the mouth ne? lol (and find a new school to take u in)

"asian" discipline is rather harsh.... but i guess it's part of d culture... i've seen loads of jap & korean movies where d students get beaten up by teachers 'cos of smthing they did, or their uniform's not right.... they do hv d right 2 do that, especially if it's d skul's orders or smthing like that... but it shouldn't b too harsh that u faint, get sick, or get fractures...

luckily i live in dubai... teachers here r "kachara" [[meaning rubbish ]]
