It's called religion.

Provide some instances where this is applicable.

Christianity.
something about not killing people?
or not killing your self.
"thou shall not kill" i think it is O_O

I'm really happy for her, not the fact that she's choosing to die, but for choosing what she wanted most.

I do think it's really unfair to not have to right to die if you want to though..specially in these kinda cases.

Just posted but yes, it is a sin to commit suicide to Christians and Catholics. Pro Life groups want euthanasia banned and abortions banned and most of which are backed and funded by churchs. I didn't say it out of jest, I was serious.

You're confusing the idea of suicide and natural death, get your definitions straight. Choosing to not extend one's life by medical means does not mean suicide for she is not taking her own life rather, it is her fatal disease that is rushing her early departure.

Would you consider someone who dies from cancer a suicider? The girl is indeed quite clever at such an early age. Death is an inevitable factor of life as the two compliment one another. One way or another, we're all going to have to face it, no exceptions to the rule. So instead of turning to science to prolong her suffering, she's accepted her fast coming end with open arms -- just as humans from the beginning of our history had to do when the odds were stacked against them.

Religion is a personal preference, you cannot push your beliefs onto others and judge whether their decisions and actions are sins or good deeds.

The judge upon man is nothing but a judge upon himself. Remember that.

Pro life are against the ending of a unborn child and euthanisa which is ASSISTED SUICIDE!

Get YOUR facts straight. The fact is, our country DOES indeed have a religous head, for we were founded to be a society based on christian morals as is England. The church has the right to back and fund organizations that oppose euthanasia based on the fact that it is SUICIDE! That's why G . W Bush outlawed stem cell research because of his religious belief that a life is started from the point of conception. Who said anything about a person dying from cancer a suicider? Can you not read?

Pro life also wish to extend the life of a person if possible because they view it as euthanasia not too. Why would they have an injunction into her choosing to die instead of living? Because she chooses to die rather than live, it is considered a form of euthanasia because she can prolong her life but chooses not too. Can't compare it to a brain dead patient who cannot be revived.

Put it this way, her choosing to die at the refusal to live, rather than dying naturally from old age or a disease that could NOT be treated, she is viewed as to be a person about to commit suicide. I also said I supported euthanasia, a person has the right to choose how they should die from a disease if it is far too painful to extend their life with no hope of relief. Now if I am not mistaken, they can save her life with a transplant but it may kill her. She chose not to have it because she believes that the chances are too slim and possibly that the constant trips to the hospital may be too much for her to handle. Go and talk to a pro lifer and have them explain why they want to stop people from taking their lives in what ever twisted way they view it.

I have said I am an Atheist, so I do not agree with their views.

What an amusing shame you have no class in your response. You sound like a street mongrel easily flustered when a new light is shined into your eyes. Does it burn?

Didn't I say before, our beliefs and outlooks upon life are all self preference? Who are you to judge what the correct choice of action would be for another person especially since you are not in their present situation. Are you attempting to make claims that you are God? Can you feel the same pain as someone who is having their life confined in a hospital room? I believe you're assuming yourself into a world of hell here. Who can say that she is going to choose euthanisa as her way to go? Ever considered the possibility that she might go as is without any drug assistance?

Surely, the American Constitution may have had religious influence, however, one of the key writers of said document (Thomas Jefferson) once loosely stated that religion boils down to bullshit. Keep the ten commandments, as that is logical but throw the other hoaxes away. So to say that the United States was built entirely upon a religious foundation is incorrect as religious preference of our founding fathers were indeed, varied. I'm sorry, do you know what kind of government system we are currently running under? A demo-republic, not religious. Bush Jr. bringing his personal beliefs into a system that is meant to be seperate from God is incorrect. He needs to do what is best for the whole, rather than the individual which would be himself as this is how our society is set up. Apart from that, the debate as to when a human life is actually considered to be a human life is highly controversial and basically entirely opinionated and not a fact.

Who ever spoke of a person dying from cancer being a suicider? Kitty, I am terribly afraid it is you who has misread here or rather, should I say, unable to comprehend. Take a look again at what the topic of this forum is about and glance back at your previoius responses. I can only hope you'll find the answer there, but I'm not going to shit bricks if you still wind up scratching your head with a dazed look of confusion.

With your last paragraph, what are you implying at? You, an inferior person has dubbed yourself the power to choose when and how a suffering person may die? Really now, do you honestly think any human being has the superior authority to tell a dying man to keep living simply because you think that his decision to leave at his appointed time is wrong? How absolutely childish of you. I suggest you grow up a bit and respect others for their own opinions before running your mouth and preaching to them the wrongs you think they are committing.

i feel sad for her...she'll rather die than spend more time to the hospital..thats so horrible...

"Child protection officers used a court order to try to take Hannah Jones from her family and make her have surgery." Oh god, that's so typical.

This is a really sad story..I don't know what to say. I just hope she lives every day of her life to the fullest.

How pathetic, You misinterpret eveything, you don't read posts and you have the apparent testicles to "call me out"??

I'm an atheist, do not believe in God. I live in Australia. You insult me for other peoples mistakes? Tell me, where did I say that I have control over how people should die? Huh? Putting words in my mouth huh? Is there something wrong with you? Your holier than thou attitude proves your ignorance and arrogance. Does your self absorbed attitude prevent you from reading properly? Please tell me where I state that I am Pro Life?? Hmm?? Can't?? You love it insult people and ignore everything they write.

FACT - G W Bush outlawed stem cell research based on his faith, NOT ME!
FACT - Pro Life groups view forsaking the chance to prolong your life as suicide, NOT ME!

Where does it say I said that they were a suicider because they were dying from cancer. I WAS TRYING TO STATE WHAT PRO LIFE BELIEVERS BELIEVE!! ARE YOU BLIND ARE JUST PLAIN STUPID??

You're arrogant, self absorbed idiocy may be contagious, don't come out of your room.

Do you get all giddy thinking up ways to insult my intelligence? Does it get you off? Do you spend hours looking up words in the dictionary to throw at me? Is it fun to jump to conclusions, read your post and say " HA! I win"?

Making such disclaimers this late in the game as a last resort to save your sinking ship -- now that is what I consider to be pathetic along with such underhand, redundant, direct insults. Really now, you are that easily angered by a girl who lives on the other side of the planet? Tut tut tut, no self restraint whatsoever.

I'm merely responding to your direct responses, any other posts you make in this forum I consider to not be applicable within this argument. Do learn how to properly edit your responses to me if you wish to shed new light upon your filthy character. Let me also suggest you take the time to consider as to whether or not you can fully support and defend your stance in any future argument (whether or not they are your personal beliefs), rather than repeat your mistake here by making quick assumptions about facts you are obviously quite unsure of -- and to take corrections with grace.

Hmm, perhaps I should acquaint you with a dictionary? If you wish to verbally vent out your frustrations you'll at least have a slightly broader vocabulary to mix and match from -- though please, make sure you're not mix-matching the definitions with the wrong terms since you appear to be prone to doing so. But if it makes you feel any better, what little insults you were able to muster up with the additional editing on your reply put a smile on my lips.

I don't believe I have to hold your hand and walk you through this observation of mine: I didn't insult your intelligence, you've already done the job for me.

that girl is pathetic. She would rather die and make her parents others around her suffer because of her selfishness? You think her mother gave birth to her just so she could die like that? Bull shit. I hope someone slaps that girl in the face a few good times. I have no respect for a stupid child like that.

I respect her for her bravery. I sort of know and understand how she must feel with the whole ordeal. My grandfather's life was extended through heart surgery, but his life was also taken away by it. He had to go back a fourth time, and that was the last time we would ever see him alive. To lose my grandfather so suddenly like that was so painful...

just as well, I suppose. He was in a lot of pain when he was alive. I'm glad he's not suffering anymore.

eh, in any case, I hope she lives the rest of her life to the fullest

Wow, look at that. Too late in the game? I posted that before you posted anything after. You need to pull your head out your arse, read all the posts that you have missed and make sure you can comprehend what your reading. I stated that I am not pro life, and I stated what a person who believes in pro life believes. Can you not understand.

Filthy character? You're disgustingly full of yourself now aren't you? You can't even go back and read previous posts and you insult my character and intelligence? What a joke you are.

Did you ever stop to think about how the parents feel watching their child suffer? Do you have any idea what it's like to watch someone you love live in agony for the rest of their life with no relief?
