We are not the only animals who are self-aware that is a fact, many researchers have taken the time to show evidence of this as well. Set an ape in front of a mirror he is able to understand that the image in the mirror is him, and like humans they will use the mirror to check them selfs out.
Example of there level of awareness, put a red drop of paint or something on a apes face, wen that ape or gorilla, looks in the mirror he amedietly puts his hand on the dot on his own face. Showing all to clearly that he knows that the image in the mirror is him self. Use this test on human Children and half will fail it up to the age of 5.
So the damn stinking Apes are self aware big deal... We are still smarter than them! Don't tell that to the 5 year old gorillas that beat collage students in a short term memory contest using human made numbering systems, yeah beating humans at there own game!
'Gorillas are able to learn to understand humans and there language, there able to also learn sign language, and teach there own kids it. On top of they do have there own form of language, its most humans are to lazy to understand that humans are not the only animals in the world able to speak. They just speak a different language than us.'

Humans are so Thick headed they don't even realize that there animals them selfs. Yes humans kill and murder and do stupid things no self respecting animal would do, but we are still animals, we are just the uncle no one wants to invite to the party.

animals do indeed kill and murder. my favorite example is how it is common practice in (I forgot wether it was black or grizzly) bear society for a male bear when low on food to go and kill and eat cubs (possibly killing the mama bear first in order to do so).

Even if they are smarter than some humans, they're the ones who have to sit in cages and watch screaming toddlers all day.

They fight over food, protecting there kids, and fight to pass on there DNA.
Humans fight over religion, money, and money, and religion.

How long do you think that will be the case. Humans may some day go the way of the dodo bird.

Some day we may be the ones in cages and there kids will be there laughing at us. (you never know what could happen in a simple 50,000 years.

What? Them being self-aware doesn't mean anything. Self-awareness is something that developed somewhere in the evolutionary chain so it isn't surprising at all. If you want to show animals are progressing you can find even greater evidence for it in animals who show that they have culture and tool use patterns. (They do. There are studies on them. Go and read up on it if you want to make a point.) There was even reports of this monkey who is able to spear fishes using long spear-like sticks. The point is they are still far behind us in terms of development and probably will never catch up before the world ends. Its probably even more likely that aliens from another planet who happen to be reptilian instead of mammalian came out on top of their evolutionary cycles and came over to visit us.

What's the difference?

We'll remain at the top for as long as human exists because we have nukes.

Earth will be a pile of rubbish by that time.

We fight over religion because it's to protect our beliefs.
We fight over money because it's the only way a bitch will let us pass on our DNA.
If you so strongly believe that humans are the scourge of the earth, go kill yourself.

I'm pretty sure that if a primate was ever found with the intelligence that was far greater than a normal primate, then they' be detained and subject to all kinds of experiments. Even if an entire species group of primates in the wild, gorillas in this case, evolved to having the same level intelligence as humans without us noticing (which would take more than 50,000 years most likely) there's no guarantee that they would have the desire to enslave us, and if they did we could easily wipe them out with our technology and our numbers if necessary. Plus, another mass extinction will probably have already occurred in the next 50,000 years, and most if not all humans, along with almost every other organism on the planet, will have died.

You say that like humans have never done so. I can think up thousands of cases of humans murdering, and committing cannibalism on other humans (some humans even willingly let themselves be eaten). And we kill and eat other animals too. Likewise, I can think of thousands of cases of animals never eating other animals, let alone killing and eating their own kind. I don't understand your point really.
