The screenshots and previews looked shitty for me. I dunno, maybe PoP is just an old concept after many games. Well that is just my opinion.

you may say that but controlling time is still in the game just that the girl is able to do it instead.

I hate the premise of this game. It's cool and all, and if the bastards at Ubisoft called it something different i'd like it more, but i hate it. One of the main reasons is that the main character changed, and I LIKED THE OLD PRINCE. Another is that the game isn't about the new Prince of Persia, it's about the chick........ who thought that up? When the secondary character has a more detailed back story then the main character the main character should drop dead and let the secondary take over. Third, they took away any challenge, the Sands of Time Trilogy made a perfect combo of deadly platforming, and using magic to save you. In the new one, not only can you not save yourself with the sands, but YOU CAN'T DIE!!!!! Fourth, the new game had the balls to make fun of the old game by naming the donkey Farah.... is everyone ok with this? I mean, it's still a nice game, and in that regard it looks like one of the best games of 2008, but it's an abomination to it's predecessors which are based on a realistic story with a slight supernatural element, which somehow got abandoned for a "Let's be like Okami" art style and a story that sounds like it was written by a particularly uninspired J.K. Rowling.

Uuh...I bought and played it through twice already and I loved it. So, it may not be like the other Prince of Persia games...who cares? It's supposed to be a new experience. I was expecting not the like the Prince because I had read all about his horrible attitude and although he is a bit of an ass I actually took a liking to his sarcastic personality. Some of the things he says are a little out of place, but he grew on me. The cast of characters is very small, but Elika stands out a lot. She's refreshing and a very reliable partner throughout the adventure. She helps you out in many ways and yes, she saves you from dying. It takes the edge off of things, I agree, but it's not something that bugged me enough to ruin the experience. I guess I'm just really easy going.

The visuals are another impressive thing about the game...they weren't kidding when they said it looks like you've jumped right into a painting. The environments are beautiful and while they aren't similar in style the look of the game reminds me of Shadow of the Colossus or ICO. The aesthetic appeal is hard to ignore. Scaling the healed world and searching out light seeds was half of the fun for me. The end definately leaves you hanging and I can't wait to see what's next.
