I was wondering if theres people who go through the same situation. I am, its really frustrating and i often get in fights with my mom over this which is really silly to have arguments over this. this topic is basically for those non-asian people who listen to asian music but your parents do not approve of it and end up getting mad or you end up grounded for listening to it.

lol,yes my mom gets soo mad when i talk about Bigbang.she's like why dont you like american bands like normal teenagers. i told her am gonna go to their concert when they come here and she says she's gonna disown me. BB is worth it.

Not as much as before
but my family is always yelling at me for listening to asian music
they make fun of me and such, which is gay
i think they're just mad because they can't understand the song

they used to, before i actually went to japan and learned the language. Now i can be like "its not foreign for me anymore so >=P!!!"

yea same here they make fun of me and they assume that all asians are chinese which i think is pretty pathitic but whatever cant change their mind thats the way they are

im asian (filipino), so they say nothing whenever i listen to flip music.
but prolly 60% of my songs are korean LOL.
and theyd go like :
"do you even understand that?"

huh...even im asian,but people around me (escp my romate) always used to feel weird why im too obsess toward Kmusic & Jmusic..and the worst is im not really onto my own country music..

i'm asian but my parents get pretty pissed off at me for listening to japanese and korean music! i'm chinese so their like do you even know what they're saying and i'm like no but i'll learn one day!!!

i'm asian but when i listen to korean music or Japenese my parents are like can you teach me it sounds very good :D(start slowly and make your way up BOA was my first one but they will forget eventually |

Hahas, I'm asian and my parents really disapprove of me listening to Korean or Jap music .. O:
Chinese parents tend to hold a whole grudge against all things Jap or Korean :S
They're always ranting about them and insulting their music whenever they see me listening to it D:
