I'm Chinese... My mom doesn't mind when I listen to English, Cantonese or Mandarin songs
But I went through a phase where I listened to Japanese songs... and my dad was like "the Japanese tried to take over China" and stuff... I admit they did bad things, but that was the past. I understand Chinese culture has things against Korea and Japan, Korea to China and Japan, etc, but it's history. BUTTt I got to admit, Koreans (in general these days) are PRETTYY racist towards Chinese and Japanese people... (60% of my school is korean, I can have a say)
So I stopped listening to a lot of it, About 95% of my songs are Chinese or English. I don't mind. I didn't understand the Japanese music anyways...
I have like 5 Japanese songs and 2 korean songs... I only have the korean songs because my crush danced to one, and in Haru Haru GD and TOP looked like they were gonna kiss |

geez your parents ground you for listening to music? what kind asian music are you listening too?! I listen to alot of japanese and foreign music. In fact thats all I listen too really. English music as gotten very dull and boring for me. I know though alot of people would ask me why I listen to music that I cant understand the words too but really? is that such a big deal. Its all about the feeling you get from it, you dont have to understand it.

Hmm, it's interesting because i always listen to it, but so far i've had no comments on it. Well me and my mom don't exactly have the best communication but i'm still surprised shes has said nothing on the subject. I wonder if she thinks i'm crazy or somthing...

My parents don't have a problem with it, but my brother does make a lot of comments about my music tastes (especially the guy groups). They like the fact that I am embracing other cultures and doing what I like. Sometimes though, they do sigh and nod when I start talking about K-pop because they knew it was coming sooner or later, lol XD
