I'm glad that a "don't care it doesn't affect me" option was given. for those who don't feel that what happens to one of us it isn't a fundamental loss for ALL of us consider Rev. Martin Neiboller's famous quote about Nazi Germany and the inaction of her intellectuals:

"In Germany, they came first for the Communists, And I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a Communist;
And then they came for the trade unionists, And I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a trade unionist;
And then they came for the Jews, And I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a Jew;
And then . . . they came for me . . . And by that time there was no one left to speak up."


now we can add "terrorist" (or perhaps the Orwellian doublespeak "enemy combatants"), Arabs, Muslims, and Gays to that list in america.
