I'd cosplay as someone who didn't post stupid threads in the wrong section, or as a serial killer who only targets cosplayers.

So it should be banned in America because Americans can't make good costumes? I guess ugly people and people who don't wear expensive name-brand clothing shouldn't be allowed to go out in public either, since no one likes to look at them.

You didn't offend me, but that article was pretty stupid. This probably belongs in the anime forum or the general section, and there's probably already hundreds of other cosplay threads.

Yeah this is in the wrong forums. I'd say the anime forums would be good for it.

With that said I would also say that you don't need to worry about the way you look because you're quite cute. I'd suggest maybe Maka from Soul Eater or something more casual like Tsugumi from Kannagi in ep 6 when she was going out with Nagi. It's better to not choose something too fancy for the first time you cosplay so you don't stand out too much and get too uncomfortable with it.

I’m here to say that this should be banned in America, my reasons for this statement follow...

LOL. What a bias article. All cosplay is downright terrible, and in all areas in the world, maybe, 1 in every 500 people do it right. I'm here to say that no one should cosplay at all since you will never be as cool as the characters you love.

No I'm sorry. Just because you're asian your cosplay will be amazing, haha.

You can always do original (your own made up) characters also if you want. I never liked the whole cosplaying as a certain anime character thing, for the most part, anyways. I just prefer grabbing a nice looking wig, a pair of cat ears, and a school girl outfit.

Two things:

1. You're cute.

2. It's hard to mess up Wolfwood.

You ask us all not to make fun of you for your appearance, yet in the same breath aggressively criticize others based upon their appearance. I don't know much about cosplay personally, but the people who put the most effort into it are the people who feel they can relate the most to the specific character they portray. Find a character you want to be for a day and go with it, regardless of whether or not anyone likes your attempt at it. Practice makes perfect and you'll get the most out of an experience that is the most fun for you. And go easy on everyone else who doesn't look as cool as you; no one likes a show off!

this is all about cosplaying (:

i would also like to include that cosplaying is not about how you look its about enjoying it
there are lots of rants out there that says Americans should not cosplay, it is wrong in my opinion
here is an article for reference:

I’m totally going to get sued for tonight’s post, but I can’t let this go on any longer.

Let me begin by explaining what ‘cosplay’ is for those of you who don’t know; cosplay is a conjunction of the words ‘costume’ and ‘play.’ Fanboys and fangirls dress up like their favorite characters and go to conventions and show of the awesomeness of how much they look like their fantasy counterparts (be it video games, anime, manga, movies, etc.).

I’m here to say that this should be banned in America, my reasons for this statement follow.

I’m going to name the character and his/her origin, post a picture of that actual character, show you a good example of cosplay for that character (from japan) and finish each character with the American version. Please bear with me as I almost pissed myself from laughing multiple times ‘researching’ for this article.

please read further on here because it includes very bias photos: http://morbidoptimism.com/forums/2007/05/03/americans-shouldnt-cosplay/

your hot

Woman, you need one of these
